*Professional Opportunities
Adventure Scuba is always seeking qualified instructors to work as independent contractors. Applicants must be PADI certified, insured, and active status instructors. Applicants should be energetic, personable, well groomed and looking to teach scuba in a fun relaxed atmosphere.
*We offer courses:
1) Discover Scuba
After a 1/2 hour informative and entertaining video presentation you will get a full 45 minute SCUBA pool experience. Discover Scuba is a PADI sanctioned program and is supervised by the experienced, professional & caring staff of Adventure Scuba.
2) Open Water
The program consists of two elements; Knowledge Development / Pool Training, and then Open Water Dives. Knowledge Development establishes the principles and basic information all divers need to have fun and dive safely. When your knowledge development and pool training is complete, your Instructor will provide you a Letter of Referral.
3) National Geographic Diver
As a participant in the National Geographic Diver Program you will learn to explore with detail, identify important underwater features and navigate with certainty. You will have the diving knowledge and practice to maneuver with poise along the reef ’s ecosystems.
4) Advanced
The Advanced Open Water Diver course or Adventures in Diving as it is being referred to now is meant to allow students to explore other diving related interests and increase comfort and experience under the direct supervision of a diving professional. Adventures in Diving is just that, a collection of experiences guided by your instructor and by your interests.
5) Specialties
Adventure Dives are the first dive of a given Specialty course and the Specialties are formal training in a specific area of diving. Adventure Dives and Specialty training available from Adventure Scuba include:
-Boat Diver
-Cavern Diver
-Deep Diver
-Drift Diver
-Dry Suit Diver
-Ice Diver
-Multilevel Diver
-Night Diver
-Peak Performance Buoyancy
-Search and Recovery
-Underwater Naturalist
-Underwater Navigator
-Underwater Photographer

-Enriched Air Diver
Most of these Specialties and Adventure dives can be completed at Dutch Springs
6) Nitrox
Diving with enriched air/nitrox is said to be less fatiguing to the body, a benefit to older and younger dives alike. Adventure Scuba offers enriched air/nitrox certification from PADI and TDI.
7) Rescue
The Rescue Diver Course teaches the student to look beyond himself or herself and to consider the well being and safety of fellow divers. It is for this reason the Rescue Diver course is a prerequisite to leadership level training
8) EFR
Emergency First Response, or EFR, is a course available to anyone interested in helping in an emergency. You will learn the proper techniques for 1-person CPR as well as basic first aid skills. This one night program is nationally recognized, and is a prerequisite for the Rescue Diver course.
9) Go Pro!
Adventure Scuba offers the opportunity to continue your diving education to the professional level. Participants must first complete the Divemaster program and then either continue to the level of Assistant Instructor or participate in a Instructor Development Course and become an Open Water Scuba Instructor. Either path offers the student the opportunity to work closely with our instructors and expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills as you become a dive professional.
10) Scuba Review
Scuba review is a one-night program designed for certified divers or those who have taken training but not yet completed the Open Water Dives and want to brush-up on their skills.
11) Snorkeling
Location description: Adventure Scuba is able to offer the following package to anyone wishing to travel to the Dutch Caribbean island of Bonaire. Using the resources of one of our former instructors now living on the island you can get the following:
-8 Days (7 Nights) Accommodations.
-Certification Dives (4 dives over 2 days)
-Rental Gear for entire visit (Mask, Snorkel and Fins not included)
-Car Rental for visit
-Unlimited tank air fills
-Unlimited Shore diving opportunities
-Tourist Tax , Departure Tax and Marine Park Fee.
Adventure Scuba brings you the latest in Individualized Dive Travel. You pick the destination, you select your travel dates and we will get you the most competitive rates for Airfare, Ground Transportation, Accommodations and Diving! Or any portion, got airline miles? No problem, we can book just the ground portion and diving. Just call us with your Fantasy Trip and we will make it a Reality.
During the spring and summer months Adventure Scuba offers it students the opportunity to complete their required Open Water Dives with us locally at Dutch Springs and to continue their training beyond the Open Water level. Dutch Springs is a quarry in Bethlehem Pennsylvania established to provide Divers of all levels the opportunity to enjoy its many diverse diving opportunities. Its facilities include heated restrooms, heated showers & indoor changing areas.
The final step in our certification process is the Check Out Dives. These are performed after successful completion of both the academic and confined water training. Adventure Scuba offers Check Out Dives at Dutch Springs from April to October. Requiring a commitment of two days Adventure Scuba can complete your certification in only one weekend.
