Company description Welcome to AQUA VENTURES ONLINE. We are known for our personalized service, great selection of snorkeling and scuba gear and fun trips. Our website will take you on a cyberspace tour of our store which is located in Baltimore, Maryland.
Aqua Ventures offers a large selection of snorkeling & scuba equipment, scuba training from beginner to instructor, lots of local activities, trips to tropical destinations, air & nitrox fills, scuba rentals and equipment repairs by our experienced staff in our service department. We are well known in the area for providing friendly, personalized service to everyone who supports our store.
At the SSI Dealer Conference in October of 2002, our own Michael Eversmier received SSI`s highest instructor award, The Platinum Pro 5000 Instructor Award. The award is based on an instructor`s professional ratings, highest level of training, number of years teaching and the amount of divers trained. Michael started diving at age 16 in 1978 and is an experienced underwater photographer and cave diver. Michael has been training local divers for the past 22 years and is now one of fewer than 200 scuba instructors in the world to receive the award.
Aqua Ventures rentals are the best in the area. We are constantly updating our rental department with new and top of the line equipment, not the used or bottom of the line gear that many dive stores rent. Our rental B.C.D.s are SeaQuest Balance, Pro Q.D., Wave, Ladies Diva LX and Ladies Libra. Our regulators are Apeks ATX-200s, ATX-50s, Aqualung Titan LX`s, and Titan. Our Instrument consoles includes SeaQuest, Gekko and Vyper dive computers and compasses. Our wetsuits are DeepSee 2 piece suits, and our weight belts use soft weights for comfort.
Location description: Aqua Ventures` classes are small (averaging 8-10 students, max.12). Any class with more than 6 students will have 1 or 2 certified, experienced assistant instructors helping with the pool and open water dives. With an instructor to student ratio of 1:4, we can provide lots of personalized attention.
Dive the Southern Bahamas on the Caribbean Explorer 1
The Southern Bahamas offers the opportunity for a liveaboard dive vessel to visit remote and rarely visited sites. The wall diving here is spectacular, with beginning depths ranging from 50 to 100 feet, with a few shallower reefs. Large pelagics such as hammerhead sharks will charm the thrill-seekers; large coral and sponge formations and the dramatic walls offer something for critter divers and both wide-angle and macro photographers. Underwater, Conception Island offers drop dead gorgeous walls with a profusion of marine life and plentiful wide-angle opportunities. High profile coral heads are interspersed with sand chutes spilling over the wall; expect to see elephant ear and barrel sponges, schooling horse eye jacks, snappers and groupers - and keep an eye out for both turtles and plentiful sharks, including hammerheads. San Salvador Island is unusual in that it is an exposed peak of a sub-sea mountain. There are only 5 islands in the Bahamas with this distinction, and as a result of this, the island is entirely surrounded by walls. The western shore is a massive submerged cliff that hugs the shoreline, begins at 40-50 feet and drops off quickly to thousands of feet. The enormous depth ensures a wealth of marine life, from tiny critters to the hammerhead sharks which are spotted regularly.
