Company description Located in Lawrenceburg, TN; Bad Boys Dive Center serves Southern Tennessee, and Northern Alabama. Our business was established in 1998 to provide a positive environment for both young and old divers to enjoy. But don`t let the name scare you, it`s because in our early days all of our divers were law enforcement and medical officers. All of our activities are family oriented.
Bad Boys can help you with all your diving needs. We offer dive classes and provide certification through NASE, and SDI, Scuba Diving International, a division of Tech Diving International. We also have all the gear that you need to get started and our expert instructors and staff can get you on your way to a new adventure underwater.
We travel monthly to dive sites such as
*Martha`s Quarry, Nashville, TN
*Rock Divers Quarry, Huntsville, AL
*Bluewater Quarry. Alabama
*Vortex Springs, Ponce DeLeon Florida
*Ocean Dives aboard the ``Tropical Sun & Sea Diver``, out of Panama City Florida
*Key Largo, Florida
*Gulf Diving with Scuba-Tech in Destin, Florida
*North Carolina`s Outer Banks for shipwreck diving.
We make 1-2 trips to Vortex, Morrison`s Springs in North Florida each year.
Our staff:
Jack Grinnell, PDI, Owner - NASE & SDI Instructor;
Pat Quillen, Dive Master - Senior Staff Diver;
Lynn Burns, Rescue Diver - Staff Diver;
Andy Brumit, Rescue Diver - Staff Diver;
Roy (Hollywood) Hodge - Staff Rescue Diver.
Some of our dive trips:
*Morehead City, North Carolina (The shipwreck Trip)
Wonderful wreck dives the water temp was in the low 80`s and visibility was 80 - 100 feet on every dive. Great trip water conditions nothing like we found couple of years ago in Nags Head.
*Key West & Key Largo
Will leave on Friday late afternoon of 3rd and will spend first few days diving in Key Largo and then journey to Key West for more dives. We will return on Sunday. Let me know of any interest you may have in this trip, will be nine day trip.
*Destin/Ft. Walton Beach
Ok folks here we go! We will be diving the shipwrecks and other dive sites off the coast of Destin and Ft. Walton Beach. We will be leaving on Sunday and Returning on Sunday. Some divers will be coming down on Wednesday. Will be diving with the crew of the ``Sea Cobra``, these folks work with Scuba Tech and know how to treat ya`ll. Will be making two dives on Thursday, three dives on Friday with the third dive being a night dive. Will be making two off-shore deep dives on Saturday. Will be staying at the Island Echoes Condos in Ft. Walton.
We got to Ft. Walton on Sunday and welcomed a Tropical Depression ashore. It rained for the next 48 hours and then on Tuesday evening the sun appeared and the rest of the week was perfect. The folks at Scuba-Tech really know how to treat divers, dive shop staff and boat staff were great. We made a total of seven dives and they just keep getting better each dive. Top star fish awards went to Blair and Tonia who fought the sea demons and won! Also to Blake who learned the fun of spear fishing, great job. Mrs. Kendra did a great job entertaining and demonstrating her scuba skills. This was the largest group we have ever taken a total of 38 folks made the journey. Look out Keys here we come.
*Panama City, Florida
We will be diving aboard the Tropical Sun out of Panama City, Florida. I have chartered the boat for our group only. Divers already booked are. We will be diving the best wrecks the Gulf has to offer.
Well sometimes you win, sometimes you win! This trip was probably the best diving conditions we have ever had in Panama City Beach. Seas were less than one foot and the vis was as good as 50-60 feet on the wrecks. We made three dives on Friday with Chef Roy grilling burgers on the boat followed by a night dive. Saturday saw conditions almost identical to Friday with a total of six dives under our belts for the weekend we declared this trip GREAT!
Location description: *Nags Head, North Carolina
Will be making a eight day trip this summer. Will be diving the Outer Banks on WWII shipwrecks and submarines. Have obtained a eight bedroom condo south of Kitty Hawk that can sleep fifteen people, it has a game room complete with pool table, private pool and other games, also has hot tub and scenic views of the ocean less than 500 feet from the condo.
Well sometimes you win, sometimes you lose! This trip dealt us a bad blow. The diving conditions were horrible. No viz, and water temps of about 52-54. Soooo we had a great time each day with our wives.
*Vortex Springs/Morrison Springs
Will be making dives on Friday and Saturday, plus a night dive on Saturday night. Will make a couple of dives on Sunday morning then return home that afternoon. E-Mail or call me if you are interested in going. Also Vortex now operates ``Vortex Speedway``, Go-Cart Track, an excellent way to do your surface interval.
A great weekend of diving, the weather was a little cool, but thanks to my dive buddy Keith Methvin we had plenty of heat to keep us warm (propane that is ). Making the trip was Jack Grinnell, Pat and Adam Quillen, Roy and Kim Hodge, Stacy Faulkner, Lynn Burns, Jay and Darlene Dewberry. Ate at Sally`s and on Saturday we journeyed to Destin to eat large quantities of Seafood.
*Flower Gardens Marine Sanctuary
Journey with the members of the Bad Boys Dive Team as we travel on the 44 ft. sail boat, ``Fair Go`` with Captain Cecil Merritt for a week long trip out into the Gulf of Mexico and dive the famous Flower Gardens Marine Sanctuary. We will spend the week about 100 miles off the coast of Galveston, TX. There are six slots open for this trip and is for experienced divers only.
REPORT OF TRIP. Well I should say lack of trip ! You see while the boat was traveling the intercostals way to meet us, there was an accident involving our boat and a bridge that was not tall enough. This resulted in breaking the main mass completely off. Lots of sad divers ! Very sad boat owner.
Martha`s Quarry - East of Nashville, TN.
This Quarry is great diving simply because both buildings are still intact, one is four stories tall underwater and the other is three stories tall underwater. We will be spending the weekend and weather permitting will be camping at the Quarry.
*Madison Rock Divers Quarry
We will be diving the Quarry in Madison Alabama. This is an excellent location to get ready for a summer full of dive adventures. The Quarry has many underwater attractions as well as great platforms to work on skills. We intend on spending the night and getting in a night dive also.
