Company description The Brass Anchor is your scuba gear outlet in central Maryland. We have been in Frederick, Maryland since 1986. We are PADI 5 Star, certified clean air, and our seven instructors offer training from Open Water to Assistant Instructor, Equipment, Oxygen Provider, EAN Nitrox. If you are interested in scuba diving but have never tried it, we offer a free Discover Scuba experience monthly.
We have an active club, Ocean Rovers Scuba Club, which holds local dive events. Meetings and presentations are held the third Wednesday of each month at the store at 7:00 PM.
We sell & service equipment from Sherwood, US Divers, Scubapro, Uwatec diving computers, Dive Rite, Apex regulators, Henderson, O`Neill wet and dry suits, OS Systems and Mobby drysuits, Trident accessories, Sea Pearl, Ikelite, Sea & Sea camera, Fisher Research metal detectors, Citizen Watch, St Moritz Watch, and many more. You will find we have more inventory than any other dive shop in Maryland to choose from.
We provide warranty service for what we sell, and service most any other brand of gear. New gear includes free assembly, testing and setup. We are prepared to service cylinders and valves, regulators and gauges, buoyancy compensators, dive computers, and dive watch battery replacement, etc.
Ocean Rovers Scuba Club
The Ocean Rovers Scuba Club (ORSC) is the diving club in Frederick, Maryland having over 150 active members. Club meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of every month (except December). Meetings consist of club business, dive reports, and guest speakers with slide or video presentations. Meetings are open to the public with free admission and are held at the Brass Anchor Scuba Center, 519 E Church Street, Frederick, Maryland. Call 301-663-9363 for info, or email tbrady@fred.net
The club sponsors fun dives at local quarries, and ocean dives in the North Atlantic. An enewsletter is published monthly containing local diving events, class and trip schedules. We also send a periodic email containing reports and schedules. To subscribe, send email to tbrady@fred.net

Location description: EDUCATION DEPARTMENT
Open Water
Fee includes certification, wet suits for pool and open water dives, and all gear. PADI Video on DVD, VHS or CDROM classes are available. A Referral is a warm water certification done at a Caribbean resort. PADI.
Adv. O/W
1 classroom session, 5 quarry dives over 2 days. Includes deep & navigation dive requirements with 3 electives based on where dives are done. Some classes are in combination with trips.
Rescue
1 - 2 classroom sessions depending on schedule
2 quarry days with 12 different rescue scenarios. 8AM
Emergency First Response
EFR covers CPR, rescue breathing, circle of care, and other medical information such as choking, poisoning, splinting a broken bone, etc. It is a prerequisite to Rescue Diver. PADI 6:00 pm
EFR Refresher by request
The Refresher concentrates mostly on CPR and Rescue Breathing.It updates participant to latest information. 6:00 pm

Delaware: The Washingtonian is a popular dive at 90 feet along with the Elizabeth Palmer, Cherokee, Moonstone, and Hvoslof. A wreck dubbed the ``China Wreck`` is laden with porcelain bowls and plates. Wrecks farther offshore include San Gil, Marine Electric.
