We offer year-round scuba diving and snorkeling trips, multi-day dive packages,scuba dive instruction and guided dives to some of the most exciting reefs and wrecks in the Key Largo - Tavernier - Islamorada areas.
We offer following services:
•Diving Made Different: Never crowded, never rushed. Our 30` Island Hopper, The Diversity is specially outfitted for scuba diving and is easily accessible for disabled divers. Rated for 16 divers, we will not book more than 10 to assure maximum comfort and convenience for our guests. Not on week-ends not on holidays
•Dive instruction : Discover Scuba Diving thru Divemaster and most PADI / NAUI / SDI recreational and TDI technical specialties, including Enriched Air ( EANx / Nitrox ) through Trimix. We offer referral programs for any agency including PADI / NAUI / HSA / SSI / TDI / BSAC / YMCA / IANTD / SDI and many many others.
•Air, Nitrox, and Trimix : We deliver custom mixes on-site including 100% oxygen.
•Our store: We carry the finest in recreational and technical scuba diving equipment and accessories in a wide range of brands including Atomic Aquatics, Akona, Dive Rite, Ocean Management Systems(OMS) Manta Industries, Sherwood Scuba, Carter Lift bags and Zeagle .
•Don`t own gear yet ? No problem - we rent the latest up-to-date equipment including computers and underwater photo cameras. We have a FULL rental department including TEK equipment ( doubles, stages pony bottles, reels, bags etc ... ). We also have refurbished used gear for sale as well as brand new gear.
•Scuba Repair Express: our complete ON-SITE repair facility services ALL brands ( Beuchat, Dacor US Divers, Cressi, Aqualung, Scubapro, Mares, Oceanic, Tekna, Ocean Edge, Prosub Poseidon, Seaquest, Apeks, Zeagle, Sherwood Scuba Atomic Aquatics, Genesis Scuba, Aeris Princeton Tech, Underwater Kinetics, Ikelite, Manta Iindustries and many more) .We carry a large inventory of hard to find parts and offer rush service so you`ll never have to miss a dive. Repair pickup available from Mile marker 88 to MM 106.
•The ``Diversity`` is docked right behind the shop in Tavernier for your convenience. Park in the front , boat leaves from the back. Quick and easy access to some of the best wrecks and reefs in the Key Largo, Tavernier and Islamorada areas. Favorite scuba diving sites include: the Spiegel Grove, the Duane and Bibb, the Eagle, Molasses Reef, Conch Wall and Davis Ledge.
We offer instruction through the following agencies: PADI, NAUI, SDI, TDI, HSA, DAN.
All of our courses are goal oriented. Depending on the training agency ( we do provide certification trough the agencies listed below ) you may have some specialty dives that are required for your advanced program. Generally those dives will be the Navigation and Deep dive. Additionally you will be required to complete 3-4 other dives that will focus on a particular subject and skill area. Many Instructors will choose or allow their students to choose dives such as Naturalist, Buoyancy and Boat dives etc. We have a different idea.
While these dives are accepted towards your Advanced Certification, the instructors at Divers City, USA feel that dives such as Drift-diving, Search and Recovery and Wreck diving will expose the student diver to a variety of skills and build the confidence that would not be practiced in the other dives.
We emphasize buoyancy control on every dive that is incorporated into the navigation dives as well as the search and recovery and drift dives. Learning to identify and appreciate the marine life is also included in these dives. Since most of the training dives are done from our own boat, all skills pertaining to boat diving are automatically included in the program. So you won`t miss out on any of these activities, we just give you a broader range of experiences.
Location description: Our central location in Tavernier allows us to offer a variety of exciting dving and snorkeling spots. From Carysfort Reef north of Key Largo to Alligator Reef in Lower Matecumbe, we offer the widest selection of reefs, wrecks, drift dives and walls anywhere to be found. Recreational Dive & Snorkel Trips include shallower reefs, wrecks and ``mini-caverns``, drift-dives and night dives. Depth varies typically from 25-45ft with a maximum depth of 60ft. Reefs in this class include: Molasses Reef, French Reef, Crocker Reef, Conch Reef, Davis Reef, Hens and Chickens, The Elbow Reef, Alligator Reef, the Aquarium, and more.
Wrecks include: The Benwood, the City of Washington, Mike`s Wreck, and more.
Other interesting recreational dives include:
the Wall at Conch Reef, drift dives on Jomamma and more.
Advanced dive trips include deeper reefs, walls and wrecks. Depth ranges from 60-130ft.
Spiegel grove, USCGC Duane, USCGC Bibb, The Eagle, The Benwood Wall.
Technical Dive Trips include Deep Night Wreck Diving, Wreck Penetration, Extended Range & Staged Decompression Diving. Depth ranges from 100-310ft. Deep Night Wreck Diving: USCG Duane (100-121ft). Wreck Penetration Diving: USCG Duane (100-121ft) USCGC Bibb (90-140ft). Extended Range and Staged Decompression Diving: The Northern Light, Carysfort Wreck, the Queen of Nassau, the Deep Barge, and the wreck of the Vitric (140-310ft).
Our custom 30` Island Hopper is large enough to accomodate 16 divers. For your safety, comfort and convenience we limit bookings to 10 recreational divers or 6 technical divers. This gives everyone plently of room and lots of personal attention. We happily take requests for specific dive sites. Not sure where you want to go? Our friendly and experienced Coast Guard Certified Captains will take you to the best dive sites for the day, depending on wind, currents, tides and time of year. Our shallow reefs can accommodate both divers and snorkelers. Non-divers can enjoy a relaxed boat ride with their diving friends. There will be two different locations to dive or snorkel, with approximately 1 hr. at each site.
