Company description We offer a variety of recreational water activities, including Equipment Sales, Rentals, PADI SCUBA Diving Certifications, Pure Air Filling Station, Snorkeling, and Equipment Repairs and Maintenance. Open Water Diver:
Whether you`re right off the street, or you`ve been snorkeling for years, The PADI Open Water Diver Course is you passport to the exciting world of SCUBA diving! It`s your first step in discovering the underwater world.
If you live life on the edge or find pleasure in a pure adrenaline high...you should be a PADI diver. Whether exploring the secrets of a sunken wreck at a nearby lake, venturing through hidden underwater caverns, or experiencing close encounters with fascinating species in exotic corners of the globe, you`ll find adventure on every dive - and meet others who share your quest for unending excitement.
Have you ever experienced PADI`s Discover Scuba or Discover Scuba Diving program? Than you`ve already taken the first step toward becoming a PADI Diver. This performance-based adventure program is designed to lead you step-by-step in your future exploration of the underwater world.
•Separate truth from fiction - discover what really goes on underwater
•Make your first exciting scuba dive under the supervision of a PADI Instructor.
•Finish PADI Diver programs by diving in an open water environment - either at a local dive site or at the vacation destination of your choice.
As a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, you`ll enhance dive skills, meet new dive buddies and gain confidence as you explore various special dive activities.
Now take the next step and become a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver. After completing three dives from the Adventure Diver level, jump in for two more adventure dives - a total of five dives from the list of specialty dives - and you`re an Advanced Open Water Diver. One catch though, you need to go on a deep and navigation dive (two of your specialty dives) to reach this prestigious level!
The adventure doesn`t stop here!
Achieve five PADI specialty ratings and complete the PADI Rescue Diver program, and you`ll be worthy of the most illustrious recreational dive rating - PADI Master Scuba Diver - the highest recreational level achievable.
The PADI Divemaster rating is were your adventure as a dive professional begins. For those who decide that scuba diving can be more than a recreational endeavor and are interested in exploring the professional potential it may hold, acquiring the PADI Divemaster rating is an essential step in the process. If there is a common characteristic of what a Divemaster is, responsibility is the most accurate term. No single word so adequately defines what a Divemaster is and how a Divemaster is perceived. The Divemaster is responsible for people, responsible for planning, responsible for orientation, and at some time, responsible for nearly every aspect of safe diving. A word of adventure awaits all those who wish to achieve the rating of Divemaster.
Becoming a PADI Divemaster allows you to:
•Work on a live-aboard dive boats and at resort locations.
•Assist PADI Instructors with classes.
•Lead PADI Scuba Divers on guided dive tours.
•Conduct the PADI Discover local diving experience and the scuba review program.

*Clambake
For over fifteen years East Bay Dive Center has been putting on clam bakes right on the beach front in Newport, RI.
If you haven`t experienced a New England clambake, you don`t know what your missing!
There is plenty of good diving to keep you busy while the food is simmering to perfection.
If you are lucky enough to catch a lobster while diving, we would be glad to cook it for you to enjoy with your bake.
If you don`t dive, the beach front offers a great place to work on your tan. If it gets a bit too warm for you, a quick dip into the bay offers an escape from the summer heat. If diving isn`t your thing, snorkeling is always good. So bring your appetite with you, divers and non-divers alike!
*Treasure Hunt
For over ten years now East Bay Dive Center has been putting on an underwater treasure hunt for those divers looking to find themselves a little treasure. Between the two dives we have a little cookout right on the beach. Hot dogs and hamburgers are on the menu for the day with all the cold soda you can drink, as well as chips to snack on.
Every year we give over one thousand dollars in prizes to those pirates who are lucky enough to strike it rich and claim their treasure.
In the past prizes included New dive computers, BC`s, regulators, underwater lights, hats, t-shirts, air fills, $50.00 gift certificates, $25.00 gift certificates, and much more!
About the staff at East Bay Dive Center:
Brian - I received my Divemaster rating on the 18th of June 1994. Shortly after I started working here at East Bay Dive Center filling tanks on Saturdays. I began to assist in teaching open water classes that same year and soon it became a regular thing. On the 20th June 1999 I received my Open Water Scuba Instructor rating. In July that same year I taught my first class and it soon became my passion. In August of 2000 I received my Master Scuba Diver Trainer rating. I am qualified to teach Emergency First Response first aid and CPR. My favorite class to teach is Divemaster, because it challenges the student to perfection and the student/mentor relationship that develops.
