Company description We will distinguish HydroSports Dive and Travel as Oregon’s dive center of choice, exceeding the expectations of our customers, by providing the highest quality customer service, training, products and travel opportunities.
Ever since you were a kid, you wanted to try scuba diving. You asked what lives below the water’s surface. You watched divers as you snorkeled and wondered if you could learn to dive, to explore, face to face, the beauty and adventure of “our world underwater”.
Come along on a “test dive” and try out SCUBA. In just two hours, you’ll be breathing air under water. You’ll learn about the fundamentals of scuba diving and experience diving in a safe, warm pool supervised by professional PADI instructors from HydroSports Dive and Travel. Discover Scuba is simple, easy and fun. Everyone in the family, age 12 or older, is invited.
Our program lasts about two hours. We’ll meet to watch a short video, answer your scuba questions and go directly to the pool. Sessions start at 6:00 PM. We’ll go to the pool about 7:00 PM. All equipment is provided. Discover Scuba is an introduction to scuba diving. If, at the end of the class, you want to become a certified diver, your PADI instructor will provide the information you need.
Dive into the PADI Open Water Diver course, the most popular dive program in the world! This is your ticket to a lifetime of intense adventure with HydroSports Dive and Travel and PADI, the dive companies that set the standards in the global diving community.
As a certified PADI Open Water Diver, the most widely recognized and respected rating in the world, you have the freedom to dive with a buddy independent of a professional. If you already tried a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience or are PADI Scuba Diver certified, check with your instructor to see how credit from these courses may apply to the open water program.
HydroSports team of educational professionals has over 54 years of scuba training experience. We have an outstanding safety record. Our class size is small, usually no larger than 8 students. We provide lots of individual attention and small supervision ratios. We love sharing our excitement with new divers.
Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification. If you are between 10 and 14 or have a child between these ages, there is a PADI Junior Open Water Diver program available.
Throughout the course, you’ll learn fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques. You earn this rating by completing five pool dives and knowledge development sessions and by making four open water (ocean or lake) dives.
PADI programs are performance based. You proceed as you demonstrate mastery of the course skills. This allows you to work at a pace that is comfortable for you. HydroSports classes usually last three to four weeks. We meet five or six times to review your home study material, learn dive skills in the pool and spend a weekend together putting your new knowledge and dive skill to use in an ocean environment.

Whale Sharks Sighted! - Laguna Beach Resort, Utila, Bay Islands, Honduras
Welcome to Laguna Beach Resort, an exclusive diving, fishing and beach get away located on Utila, the smallest and most unspoiled of the Bay Islands of Honduras.
This elegantly designed property is set on a palm fringed peninsula dividing a tranquil mangrove lagoon and the warm Caribbean Sea.
The outer banks are home to dolphin and more than the occasional whale shark.
Whale shark research is conducted during the last two weeks of February.
Utila sits on top of the second largest fringing coral reef in the world making Laguna Beach a diver`s paradise.
This quaint resort provides much privacy with their bungalow style accommodations nestled on the lagoons edge, for a perfect view of Utila’s tropical sunset.
The beautiful ocean view restaurant and bar, built from natural woods, continues the resort`s rustic theme that compliments the island ambiance for which Utila is famous.
Transportation to Utila Town is available several times each week.
For the sixth year in a row, over 8,000 divers put pen to paper and rated their favorite sites, resorts, dive operations and more. The Brac Reef Beach Resort, home to Reef Divers, scored as having the Best Wall Diving, Visibility, Dive Operation, Resort, Wreck Diving, Advanced Diving.
Join us as we make our 7th return visit to the Brac Reef Beach Resort on Cayman Brac, BWI. The trip cost is $1870 (per person double occupancy) and includes air fare from Miami, deluxe accommodations, all meals, transfers, three boat dives a day, one night boat dive, a PADI Specialty Certification course, transfers, unlimited shore dives and great company.
During our trip five years ago, two of our guests won the grand prizes in the weekly contests, Paul won four free nights at the resort and Mary Lou won four free days of diving. Two years ago year we won the snorkel treasure hunt, trivia contest and had the most fun!
Three years ago a 16 person group from Alabama won the ``first shark sighting`` and ``first turtle sighting of the day`` contest. However, 8 divers from Oregon won the trivial pursuit contest in overwhelming fashion. Do you know the name of the element named for Nobel Prize winning physicist Albert Einstein? We do!
