We are striving for days in which our clients not only have had great dives, but at the end of the day feel like they have made new friends in the crew. Diving isn`t just our profession, it`s our lifestyle!
We use what we believe are the best dive boats on Oahu
South Side: Kahala Kai
The south side boast some of the best wrecks in Hawaii and we get to them comfortably with Kahala Kai. This large catamaran has a patented dolphin spotting instrument - Simba the Dog. When he barks you can be pretty sure dolphins are around. Popular dive sites include the Sea Tiger and YO-257 wrecks, which are not only great wrecks in them selves but also magnets for all kinds of marine life.
West Side: The Beach
The atmosphere aboard The Beach is very relaxed, and the surface interval is often spent whale watching or tracking for dolphins. The Beach allow us access to some of the best reefs in Oahu with lava tubes, swim throughs, and ledges. The Mahi Wreck, Airplane Canyon, and Makaha Caverns are some of the popular dive sites we visit while diving the west side. The west side also has the most ``flat days`` a year, which provides for very comfortable diving. The Beach operates from Waianae harbor.
Take scuba diving courses with Island Divers Hawaii and get the best training in Hawaii! Our Hawaii dive training facilities are by far the best on Oahu. We are the ONLY Oahu dive center with an on-site swimming pool. This 25 meter long, 7 lane wide, and 12ft deep pool is in the same building as our fully stocked rental room and air/nitrox/trimix fill station.

Location description: We dive different Oahu dive sites everyday, because we love diving too!
Dive Oahu with us and explore all the different dive sites on all sides of Oahu. Don`t be mislead that one side of the island is better than another.
Oahu East Side Dive Sites:
Hawaii Kai and Maunalua Bay boast the largest number of dive sites, and there are many operators that work exclusively out of this side of Oahu. Great diving all year, but if there are strong trade winds we`ll change to another side of the island.
The Corsair is one of the deepest regularly visited wrecks on Oahu at 110ft. Besides the obvious attraction of visiting a sunken W.W.II era plane, the dive site has the added bonus of being the only Oahu site where one can visit a field of garden eels. China Wall is the part of Koko Head adjacent to Maunalua Bay and provides a nice 35-50ft wall for diving. This site is also known as Spitting Caves as the surface rock formations sometimes send the ocean swells high into the air. Many underwater caves and ledges can be explored during this dive, giving a pretty good chance of spotting a sleeping white tip reef shark. Turtles and less commonly eagle rays are seen cruising the wall as well. Many of Hawaii`s eel species are seen here as well.
Pale`a Point and Witches Brew both lie around KoKo head and face the trade winds that come into Hawaii. Because of their location, these spots are rarely dove unless there are ``Kona`` winds blowing from the south. If this is happening while you are here, an excited divemaster will probably call asking your permission to change the dive site to here. These excellent reefs allow diving at all depth as they lie at a slope. We start deep and work our way up the beautiful coral formations, trying to spot the extremely rare Dragon eel, most commonly sighted here.
LST wreck and Tire Reef Drift followed by Sea Cave.
Oahu West Side Dive Sites
A little farther from Waikiki than Town or East sides, but this side lies in the lee of the predominant trade winds and is usually very calm leading to some of the best visibility on Oahu. The classic 2 dive combination here is the 176ft Mahi minelayer wreck and the underwater lava tubes reef dive.
Mahi Wreck and Makaha Caverns
The most popular and probably the best dives on the west side. The Mahi is a 176` minelayer that was sunk in 1986. It now lays upright in 90ft of water with the main deck at around 65ft. Visibility often exceeds 100ft and white-spotted eagle rays are often seen here. The wreck itself is coral encrusted and home to a wide variety of reef fish. Many holes and hatchways in the wreck make for great poking around and a dive light is a good addition to this dive. Makaha caverns are a series of interlaced lava tubes that have some great swim throughs. Very spacious with lots of light in shallow water, this is a great way to see a cavern. Other archways and ledges surround this site and there are many feeding as well as sleeping turtles in the vicinity.
