Company description Island Scuba specializes in offering our customers a unique selection of scuba diving services. Of the many options we offer, these are some of the most popular choices. Certified scuba divers can join us for 1 or 2 tank boat diving to the island of Lana`i, or Molokini Crater.
Snorkelers are also welcome on board the diving boat. You may join us for a scuba, snorkel, snuba, sailing, whale watching or dolphin adventure on board our Custom Dive Boat the Maka Kai. Island Scuba also offers P.A.D.I., N.A.U.I. and S.D.I. open water scuba diving certification classes or complete any part of your certification class with a referral letter.
For those who are not yet certified divers, these protected, calm waters provide a perfect environment for Island Scuba`s Introductory S.N.U.B.A. or SCUBA diving experiences. These programs are also a great choice if your group includes both certified divers and beginners who wish to dive together. Or, if you`ve already done the academic and confined water portions of a certification course, we also offer a great opportunity to complete your OPEN WATER TRAINING. And, while we specialize in underwater activities, we also offer snorkeling for those who prefer to remain on the surface.
PADI, NAUI, SDI, Scuba Dive Center
Our friendly staff of professional scuba dive instructors are eager to teach others how to enjoy the underwater environment.
We schedule beginning scuba dive certification courses every day. PADI, NAUI and SDI referral students may complete open-water training requirements for certification in just two afternoons -- beginning any day of the week they wish. We can also begin Advanced Open Water Diver courses on a daily basis.

Custom Dive Boats:
The Maka Kai is Maui`s favorite 65` power catamaran. It has stable boarding ladders for easy access & 2 restrooms to ensure passenger comfort. It provides plenty of room for divers and their equipment. All boat trips include breakfast and deli lunch.
We provide detailed briefings at every dive site. Guests are always welcome to accompany our experienced instructor/dive guides -- we make certain that there are always enough guides to provide everyone with plenty of personal attention.

Location description: Maui Scuba Diving Sites:
Blessed with abundant marine life, healthy coral reefs and dramatic topography, West Maui is an ideal destination for divers of all experience levels. Night dives along the West Maui coast give certified divers the opportunity to see nocturnal reef inhabitants hunting, feeding or resting. Look carefully and you`ll also see sleeping daytime reef animals.
lack Rock
A large black volcanic rock peninsula juts out several hundred feet from shore, providing a protective cove with excellent diving for the certified diver as well as the beginner. The underwater terrain is mostly volcanic rock with an abundance of colorful reef fish, such as lemon butterfly fish, puffer fish, parrot fish, moorish idols and turtles. Black Rock is a great dive for those who do not want to spend the time on board a boat; it is also convenient for night dives.
Located in front of the Maui Marriott Hotel, Turtle Reef is where the endangered Hawaiian green sea turtle live . If you want to see turtles up close and personal, this is the place. In addition to turtles, there are acres of corals and abundant marine life. Our two favorite turtles are Burt & Ernie. These two turtles are so accustomed to our dives that even first time underwater photographers can get excellent pictures.
Among the most popular and scenic of Hawaii`s dive locales, Molokini is actually several different sites, all within easy swimming distance of our mooring. In the protected shallows of the extinct volcano, you`ll see extensive coral gardens, curious octopi, and swarms of colorful reef fish. Other highlights include stingrays, dragon morays, and white-tip reef sharks. On the outside of the cone you`ll find plunging drop-offs with the best visibility in the entire state-often exceeding 100 feet. This coral-encrusted wall is a natural magnet for big animals, often attracting great barracudas, eagle rays, and occasionally even mantas and whale sharks.
Widely acclaimed as one of Hawaii`s most spectacular dive areas, the south and west coasts of Lana`i offer over 25 recognized dive sites, each with its own special attractions. The unique underwater scenery includes intriguing lava tubes, unusual coral formations, inviting archways and lofty pinnacles rising from the sea floor. This area is also home to a wide variety of marine life, including schooling butterflyfish, friendly turtles, and Hawaii`s official state fish, the ``Humuhumunukunukuapuaa``. Perhaps the most unforgettable sight of all is at the Cathedrals, where sparkling shafts of light stream through openings in the ceiling of the lava domes. With such a wealth of excellent dive sites, it is impossible to see it adequately in any single trip. To really experience the best of Lana`i, we suggest you join us for several two-tank trips, which are offered every few days.
