“OK, now that I’ve got my certification card, where do I go diving?”
Ocean Explorers won’t send you diving… we’ll take you diving. Our travel program provides lots of opportunities to EXPLORE. About once a month we take groups of divers, their family and friends to some of the most renowned dive destinations in the world. From the fascinating historic wrecks off the coast of NJ/NY to the warm, clear waters of the South Pacific, we go there.
In addition, we provide travel arrangements and recommendations to our customers who want to get away on their own. Rather than depend on a travel agent that “heard the diving was great” somewhere, we can help you choose the dive destination that best fits the type of diving you want .

*DISCOVER SCUBA
Discover Scuba is simple, easy, fun and FREE! If you would like to find out what scuba is all about… during the first night of most of our Open Water Scuba classes, we offer an orientation to our scuba program and the opportunity to actually try scuba.
*OPEN WATER DIVER
You`ll learn how to use and assemble a scuba system, a few rules for staying safe and some tips on how to maximizing your underwater fun.
*ADVANCED OPEN WATER
Our goal is for you to get some experience doing different types of diving in different locations under different conditions. You will do 5 “Adventure” dives, each a sampling of our continuing education specialty courses. One will be a deep dive taking you to a maximum of 100’. One will teach you the basics of navigating underwater. The other three will be chosen by you and your instructor based on the type of diving that may interest you.
*RESCUE DIVER
This is another course that probably should have a different name. “Rescue” diver makes you think of saving people in trouble or looking for
missing weapons at a crime scene. Not so again. Rescue Diver is our “what if” training. Here you will Learn what to do “if” something happens to you or a dive buddy. Perhaps more important, you will learn how to identify and even prevent a problem from occurring.
*EMERGENCY FIRST RESPONDER
EFR is a new PADI program designed for everyone, Not Just for Divers, the EFR is a combination of CPR, First Aid, Oxygen administration and the use of the new Automatic Defibrillators that are being widely used today. We have been teaching EFR to divers, their families, pool owners, businesses and groups and organizations of all sizes.
* PADI / OCEAN EXPLORERS MASTER SCUBA DIVER
The Master Scuba Diver rating is the highest recreational rating that you can achieve. It denotes an exceptional commitment to the sport of diving. Obtain a Rescue Diver certification and complete 5 Specialty Diver courses and you qualify as a Master Scuba Diver. Do all the programs with one of our instructors and you will be an Ocean Explorers Master Scuba Diver. Your name will be added to our Scuba Wall of Fame.
*WRECK DIVER SPECIALTY
Believe it or not, NJ offers some of the best wreck diving in the world. And, whether you`re interested in exploring historic local wrecks or ones we find on our warm water excursions, the Wreck Diver Specialty teaches how to maximize that experience.
* DEEP DIVER SPECIALTY is popluar, not only because of the wealth of information and practical skills it provides, but completion of this course certifies divers to dive to the maximum recreational depth limit... 130 feet.
*NITROX DIVER SPECIALTY
*DRY SUIT SPECIALTY
*DIVEMASTER
*ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR
