Company description Off the Wall Adventures is the largest dive shop in Polk County where the owner/operators are avid dive enthusiasts and certified instructors. This proven expertise ensures that OTWA customers will be offered the largest selection of high tech equipment, a state of the art training and repair facility and an attentive staff dedicated to making your diving experience the most rewarding possible.
OTWA boasts some of the most professional instructors available in Lakeland, Polk County and the Tampa Bay area. We are a full service SSI dive center and offer a variety of courses from beginner to dive control specialist. Our staff has many years of experience and is dedicated to providing you with the training for your skill development. Families, young adults and persons with special needs are welcome. OPEN WATER COURSE:
A minimum of 30-32 hours of instruction (academic, pool and open water sessions) will be provided during your open water certification. This is in addition to the self-study required prior to academic instruction. Safety, skills development and subject matter expertise will be stressed throughout your training program.
Formal instruction will review the concepts of the self-study guide ensuring that you understand diving fundamentals. Pool exercises will introduce you to these fundamentals and build confidence in your open water skills. A minimum of 2 pool sessions will be conducted. Open water sessions will reinforce your skills. Four open water dives will be conducted.
OTWD PROVIDES: Open Water Manual with dive tables, dive video, use of: tanks, regulator, BC (buoyancy compensator), wetsuit, certification fees and your certification card. Additional cost will apply for students desiring to complete their open water dives in West Palm Beach or Key Largo.
Four specialty courses and 24 dives will qualify for ADVANCED WATER COURSE certification.
Specialty Training - $ 99
Take advantage of an unlimited variety of SSI Specialty Courses to explore or master new diving interests. Learn what it takes to participate in specialized activities. See what equipment is available to accomplish your dive objectives. You choose the aspects of diving that interest and benefit you the most. You can even ask your OTWA Instructor to set up a course that meets your needs or desires. Some of the specialties offered include:
Deep Diving , Night/Limited Visibility Diving , Equipment Techniques
Photography , Navigation , Wreck Diving , Computer , Search and Recovery add $25, Boat
Video and course material is included. Dives required for most specialty courses.
Stress and Rescue - $169
This specialty course is your first step toward diving leadership and a necessary one toward fully accepting diving responsibility. SSI accepts that diving is not a sport without hazards - and prepares you to evaluate and cope with those hazards, whether they impact you or others. This course is your path to that goal.
Course includes 2 classes, 1 pool session and 1 lake session. A moderate level of physical fitness is recommended. A video and book kit is provided.
Nitrox - $139
A course designed to provide recreational divers with an alternative breathing medium within the recreational sport diving limits. During the four hour lecture, students will gain a basic understanding of the advantages and limitations of nitrox as well as a ``user friendly`` approach to learning the laws that govern the use of nitrox. Course includes 2 classes and 2 dives (minimum of 30 feet). A comprehensive exam is given. May substitute as a specialty course for advanced open water certification.
Location description: We offer following trips:
*Key Largo: Every other weekend as weather permits. This is one of our most popular trips. Shark feeding, deep wrecks, great opportunity to do some advanced dives! $60.00 per day.
*POMPANO BEACH/ FT LAUDERDALE - WRECK DIVING. Come dive the ``Nursery``, where the critters are plentiful! Night dive on a wreck saturday at 7pm on sunday morning, dive the wreck ``Captain Dan`` and drift on a reef! Be sure to book your spot, this will be a great one! Cost $55.00 per trip.
*GIRLS TRIP TO BAHAMAS: This one is for the ladies! Diving and dancing in the Bahamas....leave thursday, return sunday, dates will be arranged around all of our schedules.
*SPEARFISHING TRIPS IN THE GULF OF MEXICO: Overnight spearfishing trip to the middlegrounds 6 tank dive aboard the sea fox departs from clearwater beach cost $350.00 includes food.
*Dry Tortugas - Live Aboard Spearfishing & lobstering in the tortugas. Cost $500 per person. Departs from Ft.Myers.
*VERO Beach Dive - Inexpensive way to get wet! Vero beach night dive! cost $15.00. We will be hunting for lobster too!
*TYPHOON LAGOON @ DISNEY WORLD: Diving in the shark tank at Disney. Cost $65.00. We have the tank all to ourselves for 2 hours. Come dive with some rare species not found in our waters. Must be 18 or older to dive at Disney. Cameras welcomed.
*JUPITER DIVE: Jupiter dive center $65.00 2 tank dives. Beginning in February, the lemon sharks come here to breed, don`t miss this opportunity to be in shark infested waters!
*Ginnie Springs - FAMILY DAY Camping & diving all weekend.
*Rainbow River: Snorkeling , kayaking or tubing on a very picturesque river. Space is limited. Diving optional. A great family outing. Trips available based on interest. SCUBA RANGERS WELCOME!
*NIGHT DIVE - AWESOME KEY LARGO Night Diving, Anyone is welcome, bring your lights!!! $60 per Diver.
*Manatee Encounter: Snorkel/Dive with the Manatee at Crystal River- A great family trip! Scuba Rangers are welcome only $25 per person. Scuba rangers welcome! The manatees are here in massive numbers! Do not miss this awesome hands-on wildlife experience.
*DEVIL`S DEN Camping and cabins available. Good alternative dive when seas are up due to winds.
