Company description We are a full-service PADI 5 Star Gold Palm Instructor Development Center, offering dive & snorkel trips, full gear rental and sales, all levels of dive training, hotel accommodations, dive/hotel packages, and air fills.
At Rainbow Reef Dive Center, all of our classes are offered as ALL-INCLUSIVE. This means that there are NO HIDDEN CHARGES and we give you everything you need to complete the course. If you have been comparing prices, be sure to note that all of our classes include your materials such as books, dive tables, certification card, as well as your instruction, boat trips and tanks. Many classes also include rental equipment unless otherwise specified. Discounts apply for groups of 3 or more!
Discover Scuba $160
DIVE TODAY! This is the most fantastic way for those with NO EXPERIENCE to try out the wonderful world of scuba diving. Our all-inclusive 1 day introductory course is the perfect way to give Scuba Diving a try! You can be diving in as little as 1 hour!
Open Water Diver $420
Entry-level certification. Qualifies diver for dives up to 60 Feet. This course includes classroom (or self-study), five-pool sessions, four open-water dives, 2 boat trips, all equipment, and book/manual. Age 10 or older, 3 days.
Advanced Open Water Diver $320
Further refines diving skills and introduces student to advanced diving under the supervision of a PADI instructor. Includes five dives, two of which must be deep and navigation dives…other three may include night, wreck, and drift, and AWARE Fish ID, among others. Age 12 or older, 2-3 days (includes manual and dive trips)
Rescue Diver $375
Teaches diver how to recognize diving-related injuries/symptoms and proper care for diving-related injuries. Diver becomes well versed in diving accident management.
Divemaster $650
The first professional level….graduate will be well versed in diving theory, physics, physiology, dive boat and shop operations, diver and dive student management, and control of dive operations.
Nitrox $175
Learn to dive with Nitrox in just 1 day! Looking to extend your bottom time? Then check out the Enriched Air Diver program. To enter the program, you’ll need to be 15 or older, and a certified Open Water Diver. The Enriched air program emphasizes the theoretical and operational considerations involved with enriched air diving. Additionally, two training dives are included.
Speciality Corses: Boat Diver, Drift Diver, Deep Diver, Wreck Diver, Project AWARE Fish ID, Underwater Photography, and Peak Performance Buoyancy specialties are all available through the Rainbow Reef Dive Center. Some specialties require that the diver be certified Advanced Open Water, time frame and cost varies with the specialty.
Universal Referral Cert. $225
Need to finish your training?! We are members of the Universal Referral Certification program. You can have your classroom and pool signed off by your diveshop or instructor, and we can do your open check-out dives to complete your certification for all of the agencies including SSI, NAUI, and most others. Price includes 2 dive trips, 4 dives, instructor, tanks and weights.
Scuba Tune-Up / Refresher $75
One half to One day scuba review course. Includes pool session, workbook, two-location dive trip (w/tanks and weights), and guided dive.
Bubblemaker $75
A fun and exciting scuba experience for the little ones. Kids, ages 8-10 will splash into this first-step experience program and see what all the grown-ups are so excited about. We will guide them every step of the way through their first scuba diving experience. This class includes EVERYTHING they will need to jump into the pool and play scuba diver.

Location description: We`re just a short drive from Miami in the Upper Keys. We now have two locations! Our new one in Key Largo and our original location in Islamorada! 2 Locations means we`ve got the best of diving here, everything from extensive coral reefs, artificial reefs / wrecks, ledges, walls and centuries old shipwrecks. Oh, and don`t forget the fish! Depths range from 18-120 feet, with each dive site offering its own unique qualities! Our charters hit all the great spots from Key Largo`s Pennekamp State Park down to Islamorada`s Alligator Reef.
At Rainbow Reef Dive Center we feature a range of custom dive boats. We have small boats for those who wish to stay out of the crowds, and we also have a larger boat to handle some of the larger groups who use our services.
All 4 Rainbow Reef Dive Center boats are all equipped with the latest in technology such as GPS, depth finders, ship to shore radio, NexTel direct connection communications, and EPIRB`s all for your saftey and comfort while on board with us. Speaking of safety, our dive centers are located very close the coast guard station, and only a few miles to the state of the art hyperbaric chamber at Mariner`s Hospital.
The Tropical Explorer is a 30 foot Island Hopper that has been custom designed for maximum diver comfort and functionality. With a 350 HP engine, you`ll spend less time riding, and more time diving. It`s certified for 18 passengers, but we never take more than 12 unless it`s a group where everyone knows each other. The Tropical Explorer is based in our Islamorada location. Tropical Voyager is new to the Rainbow Reef fleet as of Oct of 04. She`s based in Key Largo to meet our growing demand there. Over 40 feet long, she can comfortably accommodate up to 26 divers. Every trip features amenities such as fresh drinking water, various sodas, juice, orange slices and of course our famous chocolate chip cookies!
The Tropical Daze is one of our dive and snorkel boats based in Islamorada. It`s 30 feet long and US Coast Guard certified for 12 divers or 20 snorkelers. Every trip features amenities such as bottled water, various sodas, and of course our famous chocolate chip cookies!
On Board, The Tropical Voyager has room enough to comfortably take 25 divers out to the reefs and wrecks, but we only fill it with that many if it`s a group that knows each other, otherwise we hold it down to 20 divers so there is always plenty of room and comfort to move around and set up your equipment.
Tropical Dream is our speedy little 6 pack dive and snorkel boat. We take a maximum of 6 passengers. It`s 25 feet long and has lots of space for divers or snorkelers and all of their gear. We use the ``Dream`` to add flexibility to our operation by being able to offer smaller more personalized charters for those who prefer it. The ``Dream`` is now based in Key Largo and often visits the Spiegel Grove.
