Company description Rex Dive is a full service PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Center located in Norwalk, Connecticut. We offer scuba and snorkeling training options through PADI (youth programs through Instructor), full on-site repair and service, 4500 psi Air and Nitrox fills and both local and vacation dive charters. We are the Authorized Dealers of high quality scuba and snorkel gear from over 100 manufacturers, including Scubapro, Uwatec, Seaquest, Suunto, Aqualung, Dacor, Mares, DUI, Zeagle, Genesis, Poseidon, Aeris, Sea Life, and Sherwood.
Our website catalog has hundreds of products available to purchase online, with 2006 products being added over the next few weeks.
Training programms include: Open Water Diver, Advanced OW Deluxe, Rescue Diver, Dry Suit Diver, DAN O2 Provider, Dive Master, Assistant Diver, Deep Diver, Nitrox, Wreck Diver, Underwater Photographer, Refresher Course, PADI Training Flowchart, Night Diver, Checkout Procedures.
As a PADI 5 Star Facility, we agree to have our air tested quarterly by an outside, independent lab. This insures that the quality of our breathing air is of the highest standards. Our certificate is displayed on our door next to the fill station.
Our compressor is serviced every 100 hours by factory technicians; not our own staff. We spend more than $4000 annually on compressor service to insure we can offer the safest air possible.
Rex Dive Center can meet all your Scuba needs through our rental program. We have made available top of the line equipment from Henderson wetsuits and fins to DUI Drysuits and Mares Dive Computers. Package pricing and multi day rates are available.

Location description: Local dive charters aboard the Charter boat ``ATLANTIS``. Boat leaves out of New London and is led by Rex Dive Center`s Divemaster George Sharrard. Wreck dives are typically of a novice to intermediate level diver ability with viz typically 15-35`.
To reserve a space, E-mail the shop. (Be sure to mention the date of the charter.) You will be contacted by the shop within 48 hours.

Open Water Diver
The course is divided into three sections:
Academic/Classroom Training. This is where you learn the academic and technical aspects of scuba diving and learn the necessary skills in order to dive safely while enjoying the experience. You`ll also get a chance to meet other divers in your area.
Confined Water Training. This is the pool session of the course. You`ll start by practicing the basic scuba skills in shallow water and you`ll also learn some practical snorkeling skills. You`ll be surprised how enjoyable snorkeling can be if you learn how to do it properly. You`ll then move to the deep end of the pool and begin to put your skills together in preparation for open water training.
Open Water Training. It`s time to get certified! In the Open Water Training portion you`ll demonstrate your ability to perform the skills you learned in the pool session - but this time it`s in open water.
The classroom and pool work is held using a variety of schedules including 3 day ``accelerated courses`` to meeting on two evenings a week for four weeks. The open water dives are scheduled following the completion of your classroom and pool sessions. These dates are on a class to class basis, but you can participate in any of our scheduled open water dives. Or you may receive a ``referral`` and do them on your vacation.
Rex Dive Center has a OW class running almost constantly. See the Class Schedule page for current dates or to sign up. If you find you are unable to fit into our regular class schedule, contact the shop, we may be able to make arrangements for a ``Private/Executive`` session at a time convenient to you. Full non-refundeable payment is due upon registration, as we limit spaces in course programs. If schedule change must be made, we will make every attempt to reschedule into another course.
Advanced OW Deluxe
Rex Dive Centers Advanced Open Water ``Deluxe`` is designed to introduce entry level divers to new skills, increase overall diving proficiency and to safely dive in varying conditions. Rex Dive Center has integrated the training and use of drysuits into the PADI Advanced Open Water Certification Course. By including this invaluable training in drysuit use, students can experience and begin to master diving in warm, dry comfort. While this is not a replacement for the DrySuit specialty course, it will give beginning divers a working knowledge of the Drysuit and it`s uses.
