Company description Scuba Outfitters is Salem`s only full service, SSI Platinum Pro Dive Center providing extensive diver training, dive equipment sales and rental, local and exotic dive events, air, Nitrox and Argon fills and equipment repair services.
We provide training opportunities from Try Scuba through Instructor Training and even Technical. In addition to our SSI training program, we offer courses from PADI and IANTD. Scuba Outfitters may be new, but our owner/operators and staff are some of the area`s brightest and most experienced Instructors and Divemasters. Learning is an important part of keeping up with your diving skills. Scuba Outfitters offers many ways to expand your knowledge and your diving skills. Our educational programs are designed to address your individual needs and preferences.
And if you are just getting started in diving, our SSI Open Water Diver and SSI Specialty Diver courses are the core of the Diver Training curriculum.
We offer Dive Training Courses in group or private environments. Our staff of SSI and PADI certified Instructors and Divemasters will work with you and your schedule to get you diving fast and with plenty of fun along the way. From your Openwater Class Orientation to the Dive Club`s fun dives after your course, our Instructors and Divemasters are dedicated to your diving success.
Decades of experience has taught us that there are four requirements to successful diving: proper knowledge, proper skills, proper equipment and experience.
Proper Knowledge There are certain safety rules that must be learned. With a professional teaching system (a manual, video, and study guide) you can study this information on your own. An instructor will be available for assistance.
Proper Skills You must develop ability with basic scuba skills, such as moving in the water and equipment handling. The best way to learn is from a qualified instructor at a professional scuba school. Review and practice time reinforces the skills.
Proper Equipment The most comfortable, convenient and enjoyable way to dive is with your own set of properly-fitted equipment. As you become familiar with your equipment, your ability level increases. Servicing your equipment annually improves your equipment`s performance, and minimizes malfunctions, which provides peace of mind.
Experience While education helps develop knowledge and skills, the key to becoming a comfortable and confident diver is simply to dive as much as possible. Your experience increases as you explore different diving locations, meet new friends, have new adventures and explore new worlds. That`s why SSI`s motto is ``serious diving, serious fun.``
With one of the largest selections of in-store inventory in the area, you are sure to find what you are looking for, when you want it, and at some of the best prices you will ever find. We are a full service repair shop providing computerized hydro testing, cylinder inspection, interior cylinder cleaning and valve servicing. Additionally, we can service your BC, regulator and computer according to the manufacturer`s specifications to ensure your warranty remains in effect. Plus, with an average 3 to 4 day turn-around* we`ll have you back in the water in no time.
