Company description Seahorse Scuba, a PADI 5 STAR TRAINING FACILITY, is located in Kapok Plaza on McGregor Blvd, between San Carlos Blvd and Kelly Rd. in Ft Myers Florida. Our Business hours are 10am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 3pm on Saturdays. The store is closed on Sundays.
We are a family owned and operated business leading the Ft. Myers area in Scuba Diving Education and Services since 1989. We are a full service dive center, selling and servicing equipment from the most highly recognized manufacturers in the world. We have a complete rental department, with an air and Nitrox fill station. Our dive charter boat leaves the dock daily for a 2 tank trip to the reefs and wrecks in our area of the Gulf of Mexico known as the Jewfish capitol of the world.
We specialize in 3 day beginner scuba certification classes and referral certification dives done to YOUR SCHEDULE. We also have a summer scuba camp for kids ages 10 to 15 and PADI SEAL TEAM training for kids ages 8 and 9. Please call Bill or Diana with any questions. We charter daily for a minimum of 4 divers or 4 snorkelers with reserved spaces. Dive charters leave at 7:30 am, snorkel charters leave at 9 am and both return about 12 noon. We limit our spaces to 6 maximum for your comfort. There is always a cooler on board filled with ice and sodas. In the hotter months, there is fresh fruit and in the cooler months, there is an assortment of munchies available. Seahorse Scuba staffs it`s twin diesel powered boat with a Coast Guard licensed Captain who has over 15 years experience and is also a certified Padi instructor and a Medic first aid instructor for your safety. The Captain is also there for your comfort. He will assemble your scuba unit for you, help you in and out of the water, change you over to fresh tanks between dives and disassemble your scuba unit after your dives. You are on a vacation, RELAX The boat is equipped with tank racks, a large dive platform with easy access ladder, oxygen unit, EPIRB system, first aid kit and all other Coast Guard required safety equipment
We are a very active dive shop. We take divers on group dive trips somewhere in the state of Florida at least once per month. Plan your vacation around one these trips. You can dive locally, then join the day trip, this way you dive the best that Florida has to offer while you`re here.
We also leave the country, about every third month, on group dive trips. During the year 2005 we will be taking groups to Cozumel Mexico in April also Bimini Bahamas, July 4th weekend and Bermuda in September. People from all around the world join us on these trips. Bring a dive buddy with you or make some new friends.
Seahorse Scuba has a complete rental department that includes sizes from XS for kids to XXL for adults. All equipment is serviced regularly to maintain almost new condition. All rental equipment was manufactured by leaders, in the manufacturing of underwater equipment. All equipment meets the strict standards required of a Padi 5 Star Training Facility.
Seahorse Scuba operates a Mako 8cfm breathing air compressor, capable of providing you with clean, dry and safe breathing air for your dives. Since we are a Padi 5 Star Training Facility our air is laboratory tested quarterly to insure its purity. We use the same air compressor to blend whatever nitrox mixture you require. All fill station personnel have been trained and certified in mixed gas blending by ENVIRODIVE SERVICES* of British Columbia, Canada to ensure your safety. We use the NITROX STIK* which enables us to safely and accurately mix blends up to 40% oxygen and your tanks DO NOT have to be oxygen cleaned.
Location description: Seahorse Scuba is a PADI 5 STAR TRAINING FACILITY This title means that we have achieved a high state of professionalism through experience. The instructor and the training facility you choose for your scuba training, DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Each of our instructors has been certifying divers as their full time job since 1989. We know how to make your training SAFE and FUN. Each open water-training dive is completed from our charter boat in the GULF OF MEXICO, NOT IN A LAKE OR QUARRY. This allows you to learn how to safely dive in the open ocean under professional supervision. These ocean dives are not an extra cost. They are included in all our certification programs.
After you have successfully completed your classroom session and confined water training session you can ask your local instructor for a referral form. This form allows you to complete the remainder of your training anywhere in the world.
COMPLETE BEGINNER TRAINING WHILE ON VACATION
Seahorse Scuba has been serving vacationers with an accelerated certification program since 1989. The TYPICAL program takes 3 days. Each day starts at 7 and ends at 12 so you have plenty of time for other activities while you are in our area of Florida. It all starts with your phone call to reserve the days that you want for your training. We then mail you a training manual and homework assignments that you complete at home. Once you are in Florida your training begins according to your prearranged schedule. We have our accelerated program designed around you the vacationer. Therefore you pay only one fee for tuition with NO hidden charges and NO equipment purchases or rental fees needed. All you need is a bathing suit.
TRAINING FEE = $599 per student.
NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT = $299 per student
CONTINUED EDUCATION
Seahorse Scuba can easily set up a schedule for your continued education needs while you are in Florida. This would include advanced, rescue and divemaster training. Many specialty classes are also available. We look forward to hearing from you.
Seahorse Scuba has pioneered the scuba education of kids. Since 1989 Seahorse Scuba has annually held its summer scuba camp for kids ages 10 to 15. If you or your child is looking for a life changing challenge this summer, call to reserve your space today. The program is a day camp lasting 1 week. The camp starts on Monday and ends on Friday. Each day starts at 8:30 and ends at 3:30. The camp is all-inclusive. Seahorse Scuba will provide everything your child needs for camp, except lunch. If your child is successful they will receive a PADI JR. OPEN WATER scuba diving certification. There are only 6 spaces per camp. A non-refundable deposit will hold a space until your registration date. There is a formal registration 1 week prior to the start of your child`s camp. The child and at least 1 parent or legal guardian is required to attend. Registration is about 1/2 hour long. See the web site for more info.
