Silent World Divecenter opened in the spring of 1988 as the area`s only truly professional dive store. Training, equipping and supplying divers and snorkelers with the most professional service possible is our only business.

On February 12, 1990 Silent World Divecenter was awarded a 5 Star Training Facility rating by PADI, the Professional Association of Diving Instructors. This is your assurance of proven educational proficiency.

Our training department offers a full line of PADI certification courses entry level through Assistant Instructor. All scuba courses are taught by an experienced instructor, certified by the Professional Association of Diving Instructors. Your safety and enjoyment are always our prime concern. The facility you choose for your scuba training is a very important decision. Most use the same training materials, it`s the facility and the instructor that makes the difference!
Equipment sales include the finest names in the business. Dacor, Aqua Lung, SeaQuest, Viking, Underwater Kinetics, Action Plus, Sea and Sea, and others. We have a complete accessory department with every little thing to make your diving easier. A good supply of travel books is available to help you pick that trip location that is just right for you. Silent World Divecenter offers a full range of classes. For the beginning diver we offer the PADI Open Water Diver Course. For certified divers we offer advanced courses and several specialty courses covering a range of interests from shipwreck diving to search and recovery diving. For those wishing to extend their diving skills and experience we offer the PADI Rescue Diver and the PADI Master Scuba Diver Course. And if you`re interested in reaching the top of the sport scuba diving ladder we offer the PADI Divemaster Course. Certified divers that have been ``dry`` for a while can take a Scuba Review Class. If you`re not quite sure scuba diving is for you, sign up for one of our Discover Scuba Experiences. A great way to get a taste of the excitement you`ve been missing! We also offer beginning and advanced reef fish identification courses perfect for snorkelers and scuba divers.
Each class is taught by instructors certified by the Professional Association of Diving Instructors with years of experience. Your comfort and safety are their prime concern. On completion of your class you will be awarded a PADI Gold Certification card. This signifies that your training was completed at a 5 star rated facility. A facility with a proven record of educational proficiency. We are the only facility in the area with a 5 star rating. Scuba diving is like no other sport. Young and old can participate side by side making it a great family activity. And no other sport can be enjoyed in so many ways. Wild life watching, shipwreck diving and underwater photography just to name a few.

The PADI Open Water Diver Course is our entry level training for new scuba divers. It is your road to all the excitement and adventure of Sport Scuba Diving. The best part... You can start right away! And in just two weekends your certified. Begin by stopping in and placing a deposit on the class that best meets your schedule. At that time you will receive your student kit and a set of video`s to use to make your home study easy and fun.
The first weekend of your course is devoted to the knowledge and skills you will need to be a safe diver. It begins at our in-store classroom. There your instructor will elaborate on the information you studied at home and any questions you may have will be answered. Then it`s time to learn to use the equipment needed for scuba diving. You will be in the pool using scuba equipment the very first day of class! In the pool you will learn and practice the simple skills needed to comfortably complete a scuba dive.
The second weekend of your course is the ``open water`` portion. You will make two dives each day in a local lake or quarry and have the opportunity to demonstrate the skills you learned in the pool. If you have a vacation planned you can take part 2 of your class while on vacation. Ask for details. Learning to dive is fun and easy. After just two weekends you are ready to begin a lifetime of adventure exploring our underwater world.
Throughout your class a PADI certified instructor with years of experience will be at your side.

PREREQUISITES: Min. 12 years old, average swimming ability, reasonably good health.
