We are Pittsburgh`s Only 5 Star PADI IDC. Offering Diver training at every level scuba diving from Snorkeling all the way to Instructor level programs. We are PADI 5 Star Instructor development center and we pride our selves in making diver training fun and useful. Our instructors are all fully qualified certified and eager to train you to experience a whole new world! Our staff are all knowledgeable in many lines of equipment and are eager to ensure you are well equipped to head out to the open waters. We offer the best in Scuba and snorkeling equipment. Some of our lines are: Zeagle, Sea Quest, Aqualung, US Divers, Sherwood, Oceanic, DUI, OS Systems, Mares, Aeris, Deep Sea, and many more. The staff at Splash Water sports is dedicated to providing outstanding diver education in a format that can be tailored to almost any scheduling need. Method of instruction ranges from classroom setting to private instruction. Please use the links to the left to find the course you are looking for! Open Water Programs Update:
We have three different programs from which to choose:
*Group $299 includes textbooks and materials Classes begin the first Saturday of each month for 5 consecutive Saturdays. Our least flexible program - dates and times are set and a $50 make-up fee applies to any missed sessions.
*Flex-Time $399 includes textbooks and academic materials Choose from preset times - academic sessions are in the evenings 6:30-8:30pm and pool time is Saturdays 1-4pm. You will need to attend 3 academics and 3 pool sessions.
*Executive $549 includes textbooks and academic materials You choose when to meet and we find an instructor who can meet your needs. Only time constraint is when we have pools available to us. If you have a pool we can come to you. Discounts are available for private groups.
You need to stop in pay for the course you desire, pick up your text book or CD-ROM and get started reading the material. The course is designed to be a home study program to eliminate the need for lengthy lectures and spend more time reviewing and enjoying practical application in the pool. Each course requires you to provide a mask, snorkel, boots and fins.
You will need to do 4 training dives over 2 days to be certified. You may rent the necessary equipment for these dives (tanks, weights, bc, regulator, wetsuit, hood and gloves) for $100.

Location description: We are a full service dive center located in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, PA just minutes from the parkway and Fort Pitt Tunnels.
Contrary to popular belief, there is an abundance of diving opportunity in the local area. With the abundance of Fresh water quarries and Lake Erie, divers in the Pittsburgh area have ample opportunity to hone their diving skills and experience new diving environments. Lake Erie Offers a multitude of Wreck diving opportunity in clear water and many of our local quarries offer and abundance of aquatic life wrecks and clear water. Splash offers trips to a few of these local areas on a regular basis please give us a call or email for more details or to register.
Bainbridge Scuba Club(near Harrisburg, Pa.):
Max depth - 130`. Many training platforms and many underwater attractions including boats, pickup truck, cement truck, airplane, bus and old building structures. Hundreds of fish including bluegills, smallmouth bass, trout, catfish; also crayfish, clams and freshwater jelly fish (Fall, non-stinging), great for underwater naturalist, photography or research diver.

Conneaut Lake is a boaters lake you must get there early to get good diving in. If you beat the boats the lake is like glass and very clear. It is rumored that many a cars have been abandon in the lake. Average depth 50 ft. Maximum depth 70 ft. Bottom Composition: Flat and clean with a constant slope. Water Temp 70 degrees Summer 25 ft under thermocline. Hazards: Underwater lines, Pool and Dock Pipes.
Dutch Springs (near Bethlehem, PA):
47 Acre quarry. 30` vis with depths up to 100`. Submerged platforms, airplane, helicopter. Instructional area and heated changing facilities and restrooms.
Gilboa Quarry(Gilboa, OH.):
What you will see: Rainbow trout, Goldfish, Channel cat, Bullheads, Walleye, Large mouth bass, Small mouth bass, Rock bass, Grass carp, Blue gill and of course the beautiful but illusive paddlefish.
Facilities: Heated Showers and changing rooms, 14 acres of open water, 1/3 shallow (20-30 ft), 2/3 deep (80 -100 ft), 4 underwater dive platforms (12, 15, 20 and 30 ft), The Tubes, Dive Bell, Tractor trailer at 80 feet, School bus, many boats and other amusements. Tired of leaving your no diving friends and loved ones at home, Snorkelling rapelling, rock climbing are taught here
Pricing: Admission to Quarry: $8.00 Diving all day $2.00 Non-divers $3.00 Snorkling (BC or Life preserver req`d) $6.00 per person per nite camping - showers and toilets; no electric Air fills: 3000 PSI or 80 cu. ft. $5.00 over 80 cu. ft. or 3000 PSI $6.00 NITROX fills are $15.00 Instructor NITROX fill $10.00 package of 10 NITROX fills $120.00
Water temps: from 78°F at surface in July-August to 35°F in winter, under the ice! Shallow side (to 60`) temps drop to 55°F midsummer at depth Deep side (to 120`) temps drop to 50°F midsummer.
