Company description The Scuba Tank is a family operated, locally owned Dive Shop located in the heart of Valparaiso, Indiana. We have been in Valparaiso since May of 1992 and during this amount of time we have had the pleasure of successfully training and certifying over 9000 divers in Lake, Porter, LaPorte, and other surrounding counties in Indiana and Illinois. Our goal has been to get our students where they want to be in the world of diving. Our staff of 12 instructors has a combined teaching experience of over 50 years between us, combined with the confidence that the Scuba Tank team can meet your diving needs.
We offer scuba experience programs for children as young as 8, and can take divers as far as becoming instructors, so they can share their experience and love of diving with other interested people. Whether you would like to rent or purchase equipment, take lessons to get certified, make travel arrangements, meet up with a group here locally to go diving, or even if you need to repair or service your current gear we can get the job done for you. We take great pride in what we do and offer, and will continue to strive to meet the needs of our customers. After all, without you the customer, we wouldn`t even be here.
Every year, the Scuba Tank staff and our wonderful customers team up to raise money for children with hemophilia by spending a total of 48 hours underwater. Each summer, Hemophilia of Indiana sponsors a weeklong summer camp for children with Hemophilia and other bleeding disorders. Camp Brave Eagle, which is located at Camp Crosley, (a YMCA camp on little Lake Tippecanoe) encourages children with such disorders to become self-sufficient (learning to infuse themselves, etc.), to build self-esteem, and mostly to have fun. This camp allows these children to experience camp in a safe, medically supervised and equipped environment.
As a special during the 48-hour period of time, we are offering to do a Discover Scuba Diving program with a $20.00 donation per person. We will start you off by watching a 15 minute video and filling out a medical statement and liability waiver, then heading into the pool for a 30-45 minute pool session in full scuba equipment, where you will learn a couple of skills just like you would if you were taking the regular course. If you are interested in doing a Discover Scuba Diving session, please contact us ahead of time if possible, so that we can arrange a time and have an instructor ready for you. Anyone ages 8 and older can do this program, so get your family and friends together and come visit us while we work toward our goal with this great endeavor.
The Scuba Tank also offers to its customers the ability to travel with us to various locations, within both the Continental United States and Internationally (we take approximately 6-8 Continental US and 4-6 International trips per year). These trips are without a doubt some of the best diving vacations a diver can have. Try to imagine yourself and/or counterpart along side five or more other divers from the same area with the same interests, all diving together and enjoying themselves. Then add in the crystal clear water, plunging walls, vibrant reefs, amazing animals, incredible wrecks, relaxing beaches, breathtaking sunsets, etc...need we say anymore.
Location description: Florida Springs- April 6-10 Approx $365.00 to cover lodging, airfills, and diving- food and travel are extra (We will update the price once we start getting sign-ups so we can lock in the price as deposits come in) - Drive down Thurs leaving about 5-6 PM, diving at Blue Grotto and Devil`s Den on Friday, Homassa River and Rainbow River on Saturday, Crystal River and Manatee State Park on Sunday, drive home Monday returning around 7-8 PM- get some diving and snorkeling time in with the Manatees as well as a bunch of beautiful springs
Cozumel, Mexico- April 1-8 $1599.00 per diver/ $1400 per non-diver (based on double occupancy with at least one diver in a room)- covers airfare, hotel, 5 days of 2-tank boat dives, unlimited shore diving, and 3 meals daily- staying at Scuba Club Cozumel (see link above for their website) we only have 2 spots available now, so space is limited and full payment is due by Feb 1st.
Beaufort, NC- Discover Diving- June 3-9 $425.00- covers 5 nights lodging and 4 days of 2-tank boat dives- food, air/nitrox fills, weights, and transportation are extra- dive on a German U-Boat and a batch of US war ships that it fought off the coast of North Carolina- great wreck diving and a good possibility to see some sharks as well.
Bull Shoals, AK- July 28-31 $375.00 with an additional $50.00 for food ahead of time, covers boat and air fills- live on a 50` houseboat for the weekend and get in some good spear fishing, wall diving and lots of night diving as well- space is limited so get your spot soon.
Isle Royale, MN- August 25-28 $775.00 covers transportation, live-aboard boat, food, and airfills- this trip is for a bit more experienced diver for some great deep wreck diving long the shores of Isle Royale- this trip only has 6 spots total so get your deposits in now.
