Company description Boston Sea Rovers Expedition Program
Sea Rovers have made immeasurable firsts over our nearly half-century together. It started with the creation of the very first Clinic, and has continued with individual and team efforts that have led to the discovery and identification of countless shipwrecks, innumerous scientific discoveries, and a plethora of exploration and expedition firsts.
While the Sea Rovers have certainly achieved many firsts, it is impossible to be first at all things. With the Expedition Program, we proudly follow the example of another distinguished organization, the Explorers Club – an organization that many of our members also belong too. They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery – and since they have developed such a fine program to recognize exploration and achievements, we have adopted a similar structure, adapted to meet our unique needs as an underwater club.

BOSTON SEA ROVERS, FLAG EXPEDITION REPORT
Nantucket Lightship Bell Recovery Expedition
August 26th – 29th, 2004
The following report describes the first expedition completed under the new Boston Sea Rovers Flag Expedition Program. This program was established to highlight future discoveries made by members of the Boston Sea Rovers and in doing so bring those discoveries to the attention of the general public. The goal of the program is consistent with that of the Sea Rovers, “To raise the level of knowledge of the underwater world”. Flag Expedition Reports are published in their entirety on the official Boston Sea Rovers web site, a condensed version of the reports are published in the program guide for the clinic that follows the expedition.
The goal of this years Nantucket Lightship Bell Recovery Expedition was to recover the 1,000 lb fog bell from the wreck site of the Nantucket Lightship and to continue photo and video documentation of the site.
Photographic documentation will aid in the continued recording of the wrecks condition as well as noting changes over a period of several years, as well as aiding in the construction of a scale drawing / map of the wreck site.
Another Clinic - Another Great Success!
The 51st Clinic, held on March 4-6,2005 was a resounding success. Throughout the weekend, thousands of divers and ocean enthusiasts converged on Boston, and enjoyed presentations by over 40 world-class speakers, a great exhibit hall, and another breathtaking film festival.
On behalf of my fellow Sea Rovers and our Board of Directors, I would like to thank all of our speakers, exhibitors and distinguished guests for combining to make this Clinic possible. Last, but not least, I would like to thank all who attended the event. Most of our attendees were from New England and the Northeast, but some of you traveled across the country to attend the Clinic, and we thank you for your effort, and hope that you all enjoyed the show.
We encourage all to mark your calendars today for the 52nd Clinic, March 4-6, 2006. Be sure to keep checking this website for updates, have a great dive season, and we`ll see you next year!
