MIT Scuba Club

The MIT Scuba Club is an organization of divers with various affiliations to MIT. We host talks, plan dives, have cookouts and other activities that are open to certified divers and those who are interested in learning this sport. Join us for a dive! The Scuba Club organizes club dives throughout the year to dive sites in the Boston area. Typically, club members organizing the dive will pool together vehicles and organize a weekend day trip to one of the local dive sites. Club dives are a great chance to get to know new dive sites and network with dive buddies. MIT Scuba Club Membership Who Can Join? Anyone affiliated with MIT (including students, staff, faculty, alums, Wellesley and Harvard students, and their families) is welcome to join the MIT scuba club. Why Join? Being a member of the scuba club entitles you to rent gear at reduced rates and also to rent special items such as dive computers, wreck reels, and the club`s underwater cameras. Club membership also gives you priority on club-organized events such as club dives, aquarium tours, and whale watching trips.

The rocky bottom is covered in many places with rich seaweed beds providing great habitat for a variety of fish. The water be accessed by an easy rocky entry. The cove on the north side of this channel is a more popular dive spot, but the south cove is also a nice dive when the surf is rough in north cove. Note: There is no diving allowed at this location on Sundays. Rhode Island Sites The water in Rhode Island tends to be a little warmer throughout the year than in Massachusetts. In fact, everywhere south of Cape Cod tends to be a little warmer due to the proximity of the Gulf Stream.
