Company description Our focus is on providing certified divers, of all levels and organizations, a program of continuing diver education and organized diving activities. Our members encourage new and novice divers to participate and develop while supporting them in any of their interests.
The OSADC has a community spirited membership who volunteer in water, oyster, and SAV restoration programs and annual charitable programs produced by the OSADC.
Some of our experienced members have been diving locally and around the world for 20 to 40 years. The OSADC has a experienced and well qualified group of NAUI and PADI certified leaders, which continues to grow.
We offer spring and fall certification programs in Basic, Advanced Diver, Wreck, Navigation, Rescue, and others. We offer Workshops and Seminars that are presented during monthly meetings and club sponsored dives. Leadership programs are offered in Skin Diving, Dive Master, and Assistant Instructor.
We are located in a suburb of Washington, D.C. with members in UK, Polska, and throughout the U.S.

Come Check us out!
The Chesapeake Bay and Mid Atlantic region of the east coast is home to thousands of shipwrecks of historical significance and others. The Chesapeake Bay and tributaries contain marine life from sub-tropic to cold water species. There is something for everyone. Quarries, rivers, and lakes further extend the diversity of opportunity.
The Olney SCUBA Adventure Dive Club offers training programs for certification throughout the year through the auspices of NAUI* and PADI** in association with the Montgomery County Recreation Department, Montgomery County, Maryland.
Over 30 years, our core instructor staff has continuously taught for the Montgomery County Recreation Department, Montgomery County, Maryland; City of Rockville Department of Recreation; Montgomery College located in Rockville, Maryland; the University of Maryland; and Gallaudet University. These programs have certified thousands of divers, many of whom have continued to learn and certify as diving leaders. Many gathered in 1995 to form the Olney SCUBA Adventure Dive Club and continue to dive, teach, learn, and participate in community programs using diving as their tool.
Training programs in BASIC SCUBA*** are conducted 3 to 5 times each year primarily at the Olney Swim Center in Olney, Maryland. Each Basic program consists of 8 sessions of combined Lecture and Pool. Lectures are one hour and pool sessions are 2 hours. Instructor to student ratio is 10:1, although we most often teach with a ratio of 4:1 so that we may provide more one on one training. Our programs are limited to only 12 students for these reasons.
It is necessary that each student provide their own Mask, Fins with boots, Snorkel, and weight belt with weights (to be specified by instructor on first night.) You will not be required to provide these items for the first class session as their features will be presented and discussed during class. If you currently have this equipment you are encouraged to bring them to the first session for evaluation to determine if they are safe for use with SCUBA.
Included as part of your 8 pool training sessions will be SCUBA Tanks, Air, Regulators with SPG, and BC (buoyancy compensator.)
You may contact the Olney Swim Center (301-570-1210) or Scott Hagedorn (301-610-4988) for additional information. If you prefer, you may send your e-mail requests to us at Training@ScubaAdventure.org and we will gladly provide you with additional information and respond to your questions.
