Company description The Portage Quarry Recreation Club is a complete recreation facility that caters to the Scuba diver enthusiast. The Scuba diver will experience some of the best recreational diving in Ohio with clear water visibility, wreck diving, and plenty of fish. The Scuba dive shop includes tank rentals, nitrox fills, equipment, and PADI instruction.
The Portage Quarry Dive Team was started in June 2004 to provide an avenue of communications for divers to discuss their PQ dive experiences, share information, arrange dive partners, and plan exotic dive trips. We hope that you would want to be a part of this growing group of experienced divers so that we can make a more enjoyable dive experience and provide a positive impact on the younger divers that come to explore the depths of the Portage Quarry. Please help us define the group with your feedback and get on the mailing list so we can share comments that will bring this group together.
Ohio`s Convenient Scuba Dive Certifications
Maybe you spend too much time on the computer at work and would rather turn down the lights and watch a video. With the open water video and manual you can have it your way. Becoming a certified diver has never been more convenient, jump in and test the waters today.
Stop in at the Portage Quarry dive shop and have those questions answered. And sign up for a course or to purchase those materials to get you started.
Portage Quarry is a certified PADI resort. For over 25 years we have been serving the northwest Ohio area in the services of diving and supporting those instructors teaching the sport. Our Master dive trainer is certified through three agencies and has spent his life in this area teaching and traveling the world diving. Usually our classes are very small, with two or three students, but we can arrange classes for groups from 6 to 30 students.
This PADI course is conducted over a four-day period and the student sets the pace. We usually meet in the evenings, if you complete the classroom and the pool work, and then it’s on to your certification dives. This only takes 2 half days. And you are a certified diver.
We offer advanced certification along with Specialty ratings, and can take you up the ladder of Diving.
Location description: We are located just one mile south of Bowling Green in Northwest Ohio. For the recreation enthusiast, there are camp sites, swimming with combed sand beach, sand volleyball, and hydro bikes for rent. Portage Quarry is the home of the annual events Sledgefest, July 4th Blowout, and HotSand Volleyball tournament. We are also close to the Slippery Elm Trail which provides a relaxing opportunity for leisurely walking, jogging, biking, or roller blading.

Aqua Cat Cruises: Scuba diving and snorkeling adventure cruises from Nassau, Bahamas to the Exumas on a 102` luxury catamaran. Shark dives, scuba instruction, kayaking and island exploring.
