| San Diego Underwater Explorers (SDUE) is a group of divers, DM`s and Instructors with three objectives:
To provide a non-confrontational style of DIR diving activities and training.
To provide a Technical and Recreational DIR club and activities.
To explore San Diego`s waters for new and challenging dive sites.
We organize Technical and Recreational DIR Diving activities in San Diego and surrounding areas.
We offer DIR seminars and Demo`s at no cost to non-members
We promote the team diving concept and ongoing training as safety tools.
We provide an open door attitude for those interested in DIR Recreational and Technical diving: a mentor program, continuing education, advice and activities designed to advance personal learning through experience.
The goal is to have fun and ensure that all those around you have fun. Leave the stress at home and be prepared to enjoy a day of sunshine, gentle breezes, cool blue water, and compressed gases!
Membership
Demo`s, Open trips and Club Meetings are open to all interested parties.
Our members span the full range of recreational to advanced technical diving abilities, all members share the same basic philosophies of safe diving, environmental conservation, research, and equipment configuration. No minimum certification requirement beyone Open Water is required, though members may not participate on club dives beyond their skill/certification/comfort level.
Anyone wishing to join SDUE must fill out a membership agreement.
Annual donation is $25.
All members are required to be DIR compliant on club dives.
There is no training prerequisite to join the club.

| Our Thursday Night Tweaks Skills Dives are a great way to practice your dive skills and have a good time. We work on S-drills, Basic 5, shooting bag ascents, backwards kick and for those in doubles - valve drills.
We met at 6:00 PM at La Jolla Shores for the Thursday Tweek skills dive.
DIR is a holistic approach to diving based on a set of fundamental diving skills and a team approach to diving. DIR is equally applicable to sport diving in our San Diego kelp beds, wrecks and canyons, cave diving in caves of the Yucatan Peninsula and technical trimix diving. Diving DIR carries the benefit of diving confidently and in your personal comfort zone.
Club Recreational Dive Requirements:
Regulator w/ DIR configuration (5`-7` hose and necklace backup)
Backplate/Non-Bungee Wing
Single cylinders are preferred
Familiarity w/ DIR diving skills (DIRF or SDUE skills dives recommended)
It is strongly encouraged that each attendee practice basic air share and buoyancy skills by performing at least 1 S-drill as well as safety/deco stops at 30, 20, and 10fsw for at least 1 minute each.
