Company description South Florida Divers, Inc. is one of the oldest SCUBA diving clubs in Florida. Founded in 1974, our history will be posted to this page sometime soon
We meet on the first Wednesday of every month (except for holidays) at Ramada Inn Fort Lauderdale Airport.
Meetings start at 7:30 PM and visitors are welcome! The evening programs vary from speakers on a variety of topics of interest to divers from slide shows to social nights, from SCUBA Swap to Wacky Gift Exchanges, or whatever else our VP of Programs can dream up.
We publish a monthly newsletter for our members, The Wet Zone. Issues from January, 2001 to the present are archived on this website.
Of course our primary activity is diving! But we have many other interests as you will see by looking through our newsletter archives: bicycling, fishing, social nights, parties, beer brewing, camping and more.
Location description: Our official monthly newsletter, The Wet Zone, is published innovatively on the World Wide Web in order to conserve funds and time. Trying to fit everything onto an 8-1/2 x 11 paper took up too much formatting time. On the web, we can add information right up until deadline...and ``all the news that fits, we print.``
All members receive, via e-mail, a summary newsletter containing the President`s Message, a list of current Executive Board Members, and the monthly calendar of events.
*Receiving the newsletter in this format saves your club money for printing, labels, and postage, and helps keep dues from rising!
*You may view the newsletter in full color on the web!
*You can read the newsletter the moment it is completed!
*You can view it from any Internet-connected computer on planet Earth!
*If you lose your copy, just log on for a fresh one!
*You can share it with friends around the world by giving them the link!
*And if you wish, you may still print a paper copy for yourself.
*Paid in full members who still don`t have computer access (yep, there are two or three) may opt to receive the summary newsletter mentioned above in a black-and-white format by U.S. mail. They will be reminded to visit this web page for the remainder of the current newsletter.
*Every public library in the three-county area has free Internet-access computers, paid for by your tax dollars, and the librarians will show you how to access this web site. They have to. It`s their job!
*The rest of the newsletter is published on this web site by clicking on the links below. Bookmark this page and return often. Feel free to share our website with friends.
*Note that telephone numbers are edited out of the web-published newsletters for privacy. Paid in full members may refer to their buddy list or their most recent paper or e-mail newsletter for relevant numbers.
Newsletter submissions are always welcome. We are looking for articles, dive destination or gear reviews, photographs, true stories and tall tales, safety tips, recipes, or just about anything else of interest to our members.
