Chesapeake SCUBA is your personal full service dive center, offering snorkeling and scuba diving classes ranging from beginner to Instructor. We offer flexible, convenient class scheduling, and a full range of state-of-the-art dive equipment. Safety and fun are emphasized in all of our N.A.U.I. and P.A.D.I. certification programs. Group and individual travel can be arranged to some of the finest diving in the world.
Our mission is to help you become one with your equipment and the sea. In other words, we`ll not only teach you HOW to dive... we`ll teach you how to become a DIVER.
Our friendly, professional staff will help you choose the right equipment for your style of diving from our broad selection. We are committed to your diving enjoyment and the following Easy Diver programs are just a demonstration of that commitment.
Our Background
Located in Annapolis, Maryland, Chesapeake SCUBA is owned and operated by Mike Nieman. Born in Annapolis, Mike grew up on the Chesapeake Bay in Shady Side, learning the waterman`s trade from his father and grandfather. A diver since 1972 and certified instructor since 1978, Mike is also a licensed U.S. Merchant Marine Engineer. A lifelong connection with the water has given Mike unique insight and understanding which he conveys to his students.
Social Activities
In addition to our classes and seminars we have parties so you can interact with other divers, share photos, swap stories and watch the underwater videos we take while on the trips we sponsor. We frequently interact with other diving organizations and clubs providing more opportunities for your involvement.
We stock a full line of state-of-the-art SCUBA Diving & snorkeling equipment from the world`s leading manufacturers. Some of the brands we represent are: Mares, Dacor, Atomic, Aeris, Cressi-Sub, Beuchat, Cochran, TUSA, Tilos, Henderson, Body Glove, Force Fin, Deep See, Ikelite, Sea Vision, Backscatter, Innovative SCUBA Concepts, Princeton Tec, Pelican, Trident, Rock-N-Sports, 500psi, McNett, Underwater Kinetics.
Tuition
Tuition includes:
Instruction.
Pool fees.
Use of weight systems for all pool sessions. (No purchase required)
Use of SCUBA (regulator, cylinder, and bcd) during all pool sessions.
Certification card is awarded upon successful completion without additional cost.
Student needs to provide mask, fins and snorkel. Our professional staff and our unique 30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee will assure you of obtaining the right equipment.
Location description: Our Easy Diver programs, listed below, are designed to enhance your diving enjoyment and safety.
Buoyancy Control - Streamline yourself, use less effort & less weight.
SCUBA Equipment - Learn regulator theory, care & maintenance.
Dive Tables & Computers - Decompression theory and avoiding the bends.
Certification Dives - You have three options.
Option one. Certification dives are conducted at a convenient location in Virginia or Pennsylvania. Groups are kept small for your safety and convenience. To allow the least interruption of your weekend, you need only spend two alternate mornings to complete your certification dives. No over night stays are required.
Option two. Certification dives as well as Advanced and Specialty courses, may also be completed on one of our dive trips to the Caribbean. Taking these courses with one of our instructors, whom you`ll already be comfortable with, greatly enhance the safety and fun of your dives.
Option three. Anyone wishing to complete their certification dives on a planned vacation will receive a referral form.
