Company description D.D. Dive is the premiere dive shop of the North Shore of Chicago. We pride ourselves on carrying only the best equipment from the best manufacturers in the world.
If you are new to the scuba diving experience or would like to learn how, we have years of experience and have logged thousands of hours breathing underwater. We offer a comfortable and relaxed learning environment. We are a Padi 5 Star Center !!!
For those of you that are already certified, we offer continuing education. So you can become comfortable diving at night or diving that shipwreck all your friends are always talking about (did you know there are over 3,000 shipwrecks that have occurred in Lake Michigan alone).
We also vacation a lot, With frequent trips to Cozumel, Florida, Belize, Palau/Truk Lagoon, Turks & Caicos, and Bonne Terre Mines.
Like I mentioned before we are a Padi 5 Star Center, and that means a lot to us If you are just starting out, you will want to take the open water certification course If you are already a certified diver and haven`t dove for awhile, take a refresher course. Or if you do dive a lot or just got certified and want to dive some more and learn new skills, take some specialty courses. Better yet, take the Padi Professional route. You can show off to your friends and ensure they have a safe dive.
Class size is restricted to 12 students, with 4 to 7 instructors at any one time. This means you will be under immediate supervision at all times in the open water course. Also, several of are instructors are real, bona fide, certified teachers. For our confined open water sessions we use the largest pool in the Chicagoland area. Check out the courses we have to offer, maybe, just maybe you will find something a little more interesting to do on your weekends or vacations than sleep.

Now is the time to dive into the PADI Open Water Diver course, the most popular dive program in the world! This is your ticket to a lifetime of intense adventure with PADI, the dive company that sets the standards in the global diving community.
As a certified PADI Open Water Diver, the most widely recognized and respected rating in the world, you have the freedom to dive with a buddy independent of a professional. If you already tried a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience or are PADI Scuba Diver certified, check with your instructor to see how credit from these courses may apply to the open water program.
Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification. If you are between 10 and 14 or have a child between these ages, there is a PADI Junior Open Water Diver program available. A PADI Jr Open Water Diver between the ages of 10 and 12 years may only dive with a PADI Professional, a certified parent or certified guardian to a maximum depth of 12 metres/40 feet.
Throughout the course, you Will learn fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques. You earn this rating by completing five pool dives and knowledge development sessions and by making four open water (ocean or lake) dives.
PADI programs are performance based. You proceed as you demonstrate mastery of the course skills. This allows you to work at a pace that is comfortable for you.
Part One Class and Pool Session: $310.00 includes all materials and equipment needed for the course.
Part Two Four Open Water Training Dives: $100.00 including equipment rental.

Our dive trip schedule is planned well in advance and we update this page on a regular basis - D.D.DIVE SHOP can also assist with a vacation ``just for you`` if we don`t have a group trip date or location that fits your schedule or desires. We are very familiar with most of the top diving destinations, hotels, dive operators, specific dive sites around the world and the best time of year to visit. Dive travel has been a source of personal pride of ours for over 10 years and our group vacations fill very quickly and sometimes a year or more in advance. PRICE $3595.00 ALL INCLUSIVE PRICE IS WITHOUT AIR FARE. When you step off the plane in Galapagos, you are entering a magical world. The wonders of Galapagos will unfold before your eyes during the Thursday to Thursday adventure. The on-board, multi-lingual guides will share their in-depth knowledge of these volcanic islands. Diving begins Friday and ends Wednesday morning. Three islands will be explored through land tours during the week. Snorkeling and bird watching excursions are also conducted between dives. Every Galapogos Aggressor charter includes thrilling shark dives at remote Wolf and Darwin Islands. The Galapogos Islands, are situated 600 miles west of the Equador in the Pacific Ocean, comprise 19 main islands and several small islands.
