Company description Scuba diving is one of the most rewarding activities you can learn. We`ve all had the experience - probably on a Caribbean vacation - when we`ve watched a group of divers returning from a dive - talking and laughing about the fun they`ve had. Haven`t we all thought, ``I wonder if I can do that?`` For the instructors at Mac`s, diving is in their blood; their enjoyment is sharing their knowledge and underwater experiences with their students. Their contagious enthusiasm will help you to enjoy learning and you`ll soon be diving with confidence.
With over 40 years of experience training divers, our certified instructors help you develop the academic and water skills you`ll need to feel comfortable with your equipment and the underwater environment. With our beautiful, indoor heated pool, plenty of water time and practice time is available to you.
Group classes, private and semi-private lessons are available.
The Open Water Diving is an entry-level program that is designed to teach you the skills to become a competent and responsible scuba diver. We want you to love diving as much as we do so our goal is to provide the highest degree of educational training and personal attention that you need to feel comfortable and confident. No prior experience is required, just a sense of adventure and a desire to have a lot of fun!
The Nitrox Diving program introduces you to a breathing gas that is safer than air. This is simply air enriched with oxygen, which safely allows longer bottom times, shorter surface intervals, more energy, and reduced fatigue after diving. Nitrox also maximizes safety when used with air-based tables/computers, and reduces the risk of nitrogen narcosis.
Specialty & Advanced Programs take your existing scuba skills, strengthen them, and make you a more competent diver by covering different diving specialties. Many of the specialties offered are Deep Diving, Wreck Diving, Night / Limited Visibility Diving, Cavern Diving, Boat Diving, Navigation and many others.
The Stress & Rescue program teaches you how to recognize signs and symptoms of dive-related stress within yourself and your buddy. This is done through the knowledge and practice of self-aid and rescue skills. You will sharpen your skills and dramatically increase your confidence! You can view the video and study at home, then have private pool sessions with your instructor (two dives, flow chart, c-card included).
You will learn all about snorkeling, from putting on the mask, to marine awareness and conservation. This is a half-day class serving ages 5 and up. Also, private and semi-private snorkeling classes are available.
An activities club for kids 8-12. By learning to snorkel and scuba dive in a swimming pool, kids build confidence, discipline and respect for the water--all while setting and accomplishing goals, and having fun! Scuba Rangers are offered for ages eight thru twelve years of age.
In addition to our staff of factory-trained on-site repair technicians, we are a licensed repair center for all major equipment brands. We satisfy your needs with quick quality service.
If you have had a difficult time locating a reliable repair center to handle your gear maintenance, you can feel confident that your equipment will receive a thorough inspection, prompt attention, with a complete explanation of service provided by Mac`s technicians.
PRASD provides regulator servicing through the mail. UPS your equipment to us; our technicians will service it and return it to you - fast! We service most brands.
Location description: Our wonderful weather and close proximity to the waters of the Gulf of Mexico and the world-renowned warm Florida springs and rivers provide an excellent location to complete your certification process during your holiday on the beaches. Provide us with your instructor`s referral that says you have completed all the academic and pool work required and that you are now ready for your open water dives. Our instructors will arrange the necessary open water dives and upon successful completion, sign off on your certification achievement.
Mac`s Sports schedules a full year of activities. Whether you are a diver, skier, or you enjoy activities that relate to the two - such as snorkeling, bubble watching, or snowboarding - we have the trip schedule, the equipment and clothing that you`ll need.
Year-round diving is available in the Gulf of Mexico, Florida springs and rivers, as well as weekend wreck dives. Keep checking as new trips are being added regularly, plus some really exciting events to celebrate Mac`s Sports 40th anniversary.
