Company description Mermet Springs is an 8.5 acre spring fed stone quarry, located in Southern Illinois. The quarry has 100 foot walls and wooded hills encompassing nearly half of its perimeter. The sheer walls are not only on the top but can be followed to depths of 120 ft. This quarry is devoted to diving and dive training. We have an array of items of interest for all divers. Whether it is our training platforms, easy entry docks, 15 - 120 ft. dives, or our many sunken treasures such as the Boeing 727 airplane used in the movie ``U.S. Marshals``, you are sure to find something of interest. Snorkeling, kayaking and on site camping for divers and their guests will round out your perfect weekend at Mermet Springs.

Every year we strive to improve our training facilities and add new attractions. Our goal is to offer you a safe, fun, and a truly First Class dive site.
Our philosophy is to provide divers with the safest and most enjoyable diving experience in the Midwest! We offer local instruction and from beginning open water through instructor. We also offer technical instruction through PADI`s DSAT program. You can even TRY SCUBA diving with our professional instructors to see if you would like to go on and become a certified diver.

The information regarding travel is intended for divers who live near Mermet Springs Or who do not have a local dive shop. Mermet Springs strongly encourages all divers and prospective students to support their local dive shops by patronizing them for their dive travel, equipment needs and training. We at Mermet Springs do not wish to compete in any way with dive shops for their travel needs. However if we are your local dive shop or you are not associated with a dive shop you are welcome to join us in our diving adventures.

Coco Island, Costa Rica aboard the Okeanos Aggressor Escape to Cocos Island a lush, green uninhabited island resting 375 miles off Costa Rica`s Pacific coast. Rocky pinnacles surrounding Cocos are beacons for big animals and big action. Schooling hammerheads, countless white-tip sharks, mantas, tuna and even whale sharks call Cocos home.
