Company description Narragansett Pier Dive Shop is Southern New England headquarters for SCUBA and freediving gear. We have knowledgeable, friendly staff members who will go out of their way to help you have fun in the water.
We offer a full range of name brand SCUBA and kayaking equipment for purchase or rental.
We provide instruction in freediving, snorkeling, all levels of SCUBA, and kayaking. Additionally boat charters to many of the offshore dive sites in Narragansett Bay are available during the summer months.
We offer a full line of SCUBA courses from Basic Open water through Dive Master, including Advanced Nitrox and and Azimuth Rebreather. We currently have three instructors on staff, each specializing in different areas of expertise. Group and private lessons run continually throughout the year.
Equipment Sales:
The selection of your SCUBA gear is one of the most important tasks in becoming a diver -- one that does not stop when you become certified. As you increase your skills and gain experience, your equipment needs will change. We believe all diving systems should be flexible and have varied capabilities because few of us do only one kind of diving or dive in only a single location.
Our store is one of the best stocked in the area. We carry a wide range of quality, name-brand equipment at affordable prices. We`ll help you purchase the right equipment for your dive style and budget.
All equipment purchased at our store includes a full factory warranty and we stand behind everything we sell.
Rentals:
Our SCUBA retail gear is top of the line and well maintained. We will outfit you for any type of local dive.
All rentals are for a 24 hour period and a deposit is required. Weekly rates are also available. Certification Card is required to rent all SCUBA gear.
Freediving:
Want fish for your dinner? Forget the fish shops! Come in and rent snorkeling gear, a speargun, and a catch bag and you are all set to begin your quest. Our staff can suggest the best places to drop in to quickly nab a Bass, Tutough, or other local fish.
Kayaks & Canoes:
Other area shops only allow their boats to be put in at a single location. This can severely limit your sightseeing and adventure potential. Pier Dive Shop is the only Kayak rental agency in Narragansett to allow kayaks and canoes to be taken anywhere We provide car top racks so you can visit any number of beautiful waterways. We also will deliver the boats locally at your request.
Repairs & Maintenance:
Keeping your gear problem free is essential to safe diving. This is why we encourage you to bring your gear in for regular maintenance. Whether you need your Regulator overhauled, Buoyancy Compensator cleaned and leak tested or your tank internally visual and/or hydro tested we provide the service you need.
All repairs are completed quickly so you can get back in the water as soon as possible.

Charlie started diving in the late 1970`s and has had a passion for the sport ever since. In 1984 he opened Narragansett Pier Dive Shop, which truly is an outgrowth of his love for the sport.
*Suzette Walpole, Owner
Suzette keeps things running smoothly. Also a diver for many years her organizational skills are the backbone of the store.
*Marissa Balasco
Marissa Balasco has worked at Pier Dive Shop for the past 3 years. An avid freediver Marissa took up Scuba in 2000 .
Marissa recently beat the Women`s Freedive Spearfishing World Record with this 42lb. bass.
