Company description Welcome to Swim King Scuba. We are a full service scuba facility offering everything and anything a local or traveling diver could possibly need to get in the water. Stop in to see the latest high tec dive gear, sign up for a class, or get the details on an upcoming trip or local dive.
Our experienced and knowledgeable staff of divers have been serving the local dive community since the mid 1970`s and will try their best to help you with all of your diving needs.
Our goal is to provide the best service we can so you can enjoy your diving adventures to their fullest.
We have been traveling to the worlds best dive destinations for over 20 years and also specialize in booking trips for small groups or individuals who are unable to join us on one of our group trips.
Our Services:
For over 20 years we have been proudly selling the Scubapro equipment line. We feel Scubapro produce some of the most innovative products in the industry. Their products are often copied but the quality and performance that make Scubapro one of the top equipment manufacturers in the industry is never duplicated.
Having a choice is always important so we do carry equipment from other industry leaders such as: Cressi-Sub, Atomic, DUI, Poseidon, Dive Rite, OMS, Henderson, Oneill, UK, Princeton Tec, and many others.
Our store is well stocked with a large variety of accessories for all types of diving. Whether you`re a photographer, wreck diver, spear fisherman, or just like to escape underwater every now and then we have the equipment you need to enjoy your activity of choice.
Lessons and Certification
Since we are a small store with a small staff you can be assured that you will receive quality instruction when you sign up for one of our educational programs. Our store has employed only two instructors through its 22 year history. With a combined 50 years of experience teaching people how to dive you don`t have to worry about the credentials of your diving instructor.
At Swim King we proudly offer PADI certification and experience programs to anyone from age 8 and up! We are one of only 3 scuba schools on Long Island to meet the requirements enabling us to offer the PADI National Geographic certification program.
Equipment Repair and Service
At Swim King we can handle just about any equipment repair you can throw at us. Our repair technician has been with us since 1984 and has been certified to do repairs on most major brands of diving equipment. We are happy to service any brand of regulator, bcd or valve regardless of where you purchased it. Our average turnaround time on a repair is one week but faster service is available at a slightly higher rate.
Some of our services are: Regulator Overhauls • BCD Inspection • Tank Hydro`s and Tumbling • Valve Overhauls • Dry Suit Seal Replacement and Valve Repair • Oxygen Cleaning of tanks and regulators
Air Station
These days it isn`t enough to just offer plain old air fills to your customers. With more and more local divers getting into wreck and tec-diving you have to at least be able to fill a tank with Nitrox. At Swim King we not only offer Air and Nitrox fills, but also can fill your tanks with Tri-Mix (if you are a certified Tri Mix Diver) pure 02 for decompression,(if you have an advanced Nitrox certification) and we even have Argon for dry suit inflation.
Our partial pressure blending is equipped with a booster pump which enables us to remix any blend of Nitrox to your specification. when you pick up your tanks you will be able to verify your mix using one of our oxygen analyzers.

Of course if you are only going beach diving in shallow water we do still offer regular air fills. And you can be assured that our air is clean, we send it out to a lab for testing every 3 months.
Location description: Magnificent sunsets, tropical breezes, clear warm water and colorful marine life. These are just a couple of reasons why many divers like to travel to diving destinations in the caribbean, Mexico, the Bahamas, and in the south pacific. Diving is an adventure sport and when you combine it with travel it makes it that much more of an adventure.
At Swim King we run several group dive trips per year. Trips to caribbean destinations usually take place during winter months but we occasionally will run them in the spring or towards the end of summer. these trips are usually for 8 days and 7 nights. Trips to the south pacific are usually during summer months and can run anywhere from 2 to 3 weeks in duration.
Get Nitrox Speciality
During the nitrox specialty class you will learn how to use special dive tables (similar to the ones used for air) which will allow you to plan dives using nitrox. You will also learn about equipment and safety procedures that must be taken into consideration when using nitrox. The class consists of home study, one review session, and 2 dives.
Travel is a big part of diving. Although we have some great dive sites here on Long Island, some divers prefer to do their diving in exotic locations like the south Pacific, or closer to home in the waters of the Caribbean.
At Swim King we can help you plan the trip of your dreams to the tropical Island of your choice. We can book your airfare, accommodations at your destination, and your dive package. Of course you could always just sign up for one of our very popular group trips. We usually run from 2 to 4 trips per year and travel with a group of between 16 and 36 individuals. Non divers are welcome on these trips as well.
On Long Island there are two types of divers. Those who dive locally, and those who don`t. The ones who don`t are missing out on some fantastic diving right in their own back yard. We are surrounded by water and many excellent dive sites. Our north shore is a great place for beginners to hone their skills, or for experienced divers to make a nice relaxing dive in calm water. Our south shore has some of the best, and most well known wreck diving on the entire east coast of the U. S. If you are a tropical diver who has yet to dive the waters of long island give us a call to arrange an orientation dive. The water is at its warmest from late June through early September.
At Swim King we operate a small boat for diving the north shore of Long Island. There are also several charter operations that bring divers to the shipwrecks off the south shore of the island.
