This is the place to be for super cool diving stuff and dive travel for the certified scuba diver and the novice!
The Dive Shop teaches scuba diving and certifies divers all the way up to instructor level.
Whether you are just beginning your scuba diving adventure or you are a seasoned diver we have something for you at The Dive Shop.
Founded in Memphis in 1961, The Dive Shop now has complete full-service scuba diving facilities in Joplin, MO, Little Rock, AR, Marietta, GA, and Memphis, TN. In our facilities, you will find an endless array of choices to meet your diving needs and desires.
We offer top of the line scuba diving equipment, exotic year-round travel packages, scuba certification courses to fit any schedule, and specialty classes on all facets of the diving world.
Whether you are a novice diver or an ``old salt,`` our on-site training pool and classrooms, experienced instructors and SSI certification programs will ensure that you have the skills and confidence you need to dive safely.
The Dive Shop in Marietta, Georgia in the Atlanta area was founded by Mike Van Hosen. Our Marietta, GA store offers a full range of scuba education as well as swimming instruction. Getting certified is easy with lessons in our classrooms and indoor, heated pool. The Dive Shop is conveniently located to serve you in the Atlanta area. We offer scuba diving lessons, dive vacations, and the finest scuba gear on the market. We work around your schedule to make your scuba diving certification as convenient as possible.
The Dive Shop Inc. currently runs the scuba program at Ole` Miss. Students learn scuba, get certified, and get college credit. The program includes beginner open water through advanced open water scuba. The diving program takes regular trips to nearby diving destination for open water certification. We also plan spring break trips for scuba divers with Blackbeard`s cruises. Blackbeard`s is an affordable scuba live-aboard sailboat that tours some of the most spectacular diving sites in the Caribbean and Bahamas including Bimini.
The Dive Shop also runs the scuba program at The University of Memphis. Students learn scuba, and get college credit. The program includes beginner open water through advanced open water scuba with certification available to students as an option. The diving program takes regular trips to nearby diving destinations for open water certification. We also plan spring break trips for scuba divers with Blackbeard`s cruises. Blackbeard`s is an affordable scuba liveaboard sailboat that tours some of the most spectacular diving sites in the Caribbean and Bahamas including Bimini.
The Dive Shop of Memphis is currently operating the YSCUBA program for the Memphis and Midsouth YMCA locations. We currently teach classes at the Fogelman Downtown YMCA, the Millington YMCA, and the brand new Olive Branch, MS YMCA. Certification is in the YMCA scuba curriculum.

As a member of the Dive Shop family you can join any of our exciting trips. Choose from any of the trips listed here or, if you want to go someplace different with your family and friends we can make the travel arrangements for you. Just ask at your local Dive Shop.
Diving is a fun activity but the unexpected can happen from trips being interrupted or cancelled and even accidents while you are diving.
Most medical and travel policies simply do not cover diving risks. A diving accident can involve major medical and related expenses. The insurance & assistance programs, made available to you through your membership in the DiveAssure association, are designed specifically for divers, and give you full coverage in case of a diving accident.
With so many great dive destinations outside the United States, you are bound to travel abroad sooner or later.
The Dive Shop will provide you with the information you need for traveling to any of the countries we will be visiting during our sponsored trips so you can avoid any hassles or unnecessary delays..
Every summer we run trips to Greer`s Ferry Lake, Heber Springs Arkansas. The Island Queen will be waiting for your along with all your friends from The Dive Shop and all your diving buddies.
About Our Boat
The Island Queen is a 58 foot Dive/Houseboat with a 14 foot beam. She is powered by twin 350’s with cobra outdrives. She is also powered by a generator for our power needs.
A large forward and aft deck make for an easy storage and assembly area for divers.
The forward cabin has a seating area, VCR and TV which allows divers to take specialty classes with us at the lake.
The boat is equipped with a fully functional head (bathroom). The aft cabin houses the crew quarters.
Dive Sites
We visit several different site throughout the year but our most visited sites are large flat rock formations that are perfect for students and open water certifications. There are swimthroughs and wall type sites surrounding this area for other divers.

Dinner Cruise and Night Dive
Enjoy this 3 hour sunset cruise complete with dinner. Your crew takes great pride in preparing some of the finest food you’ve ever eaten. Be sure to bring your own beverages and $6.00 for food.
After enjoying dinner we will anchor at one of the best night dive spots on the lake for a one tank dive.
This is a great time to visit old friends, make new ones, and, of course, talk about diving.
Specialty Classes at the Lake
We will be teaching a select curriculum of specialty classes during the course of the weekend. This is an excellent opportunity to learn new skills.

The Island Queen is equipped with Oxygen, First Aid Equipment and trained staff. We do, in fact, try to avoid using them though.
