Company description The DIVE SITE has been in business since 1988. We strive to give our customers honest, reliable information, allowing them to make well informed purchase decisions. Our choice of scuba instruction is through SCUBA SCHOOLS INTERNATIONAL, one of the world`s largest certifying agencies. Our diving instruction is given with your safety and comfort in mind. The academic portion is done at your leisure in you home. Water training is done in a local pool at a pace that is comfortable for you. Our instructors have over 40 years of combined teaching experience.
Brightly colored fish dart back and forth as they patrol the maze of their underwater home. Or maybe a large turtle moves gently from one quiet cave to another in search of peace. Perhaps you might catch a glimpse of a lobster peering out of a crevice or a dolphin swimming by.
All these sights and more are available to the person who slips into scuba diving equipment and enters the water, almost anywhere in the world.
A scuba diving class is your passport to sights and experiences that most people only dream about. And the best part is that this exciting sport is easy to learn, inexpensive, and does not require you to be an olympic swimmer to participate. In fact, today`s equipment allows people of almost any age and ability to participate and safely experience the sheer joy of the beauty found only beneath the water`s surface.
Learning to dive and safely enjoy your time in the water means learning how to use the equipment: how to kick with the fins, how to use the mask and snorkel, how to use the regulators, and how to maintain proper buoyancy. These simple skills can be quickly mastered. In addition to learning how to use the equipment, you will maximize your enjoyment by learning something about the water environment, its inhabitants, and its delicate ecology. The more you understand, the more you will appreciate and enjoy your excursions into the fresh and salt waters of the world.
The DIVE SITE is the natural choice for those who demand the very best. Our instructors are highly trained professionals who work only through our store. Divers certification is issued through Scuba Schools International, Inc., one of the largest certifying agencies in the world.
The reason you take scuba lessons is to insure your safe enjoyment of the underwater world. Enjoyment comes only when you feel comfortable in the water, and comfort comes only from ability.
A high level of ability is not difficulty to achieve but it does take time to develop skills and gain experience. There is no magic formula, and there are no short cuts. The more time you spend learning and acquiring experience, the greater will be your ability and comfort.

Our SSI Scuba training is a step-by-step procedure. You begin with the basic equipment in the pool. There you are introduced to the simpler exercises and are given the opportunity to practice each one until you are comfortable and ready to move on to more involved skills.
Additional training available at DIVE SITE up to Advanced Open Water Instructor.

The DIVE SITE is the most complete dive store in the Kalamazoo area. We have everything for your diving and snorkeling needs. One stop does it all: training, equipment service, air fills, equipment rental or purchase, as well as travel.
DIVE SITE offers group trips throughout the year. For those that want to get away by themselves, we can arrange that, too. We arrange trips from local lakes to anywhere in the world.

$300 per person deposit holds your space. We can also book your air space. Cost of flight round trip from Chicago at time of this writing is $715. (Airfare subject to change.)
