AM SCUBA Tours
Boat dives at Molokini Crater are spectacular. We leave early to beat the weather as the trade winds usually become stronger as the day progresses. Check-in time is at 6:30am at Ma`alaea Harbor, Slip #23. Prepare for an immediate departure as we do all our briefings and introductions on the 45 minute boat ride to Molokini. When we arrive at our dive location, you will already be briefed and set up with equipment. Afterwards we will take a 40 minute surface interval while motoring to our second dive site. The length of the tour is approximately five hours. We`ve got it all covered. All you need to do is enjoy yourself. To ensure safety and diving enjoyment, dive site locations may vary due to weather or sea conditions.
The afternoon tour is the same as the morning tour, weather permitting. The Maui Diamond II employs experienced Scuba Instructors and Divemasters. All are PADI Certified and have both safety and naturalist experience, hence proof of our perfect safety record. Certified divers will accompany a Divemaster or Instructor on two dives exploring reefs, tropical fish and sea life. Introductory divers will be taught the skills of SCUBA diving before entering the water. For your safety, we book small groups for each Instructor so that we can give you the attention that you deserve on your dives. We will guarantee that you have a great dive. Again, we have it all covered, come dive with us and experience Hawaii underwater!
When you reserve your private charters to Molokini Crater and/or other dive locations, we will provide you with all scuba and snorkel equipment needed for the trip. Briefings and introductions will take place before the dive so you are familiar with the dive locations and marine life you may see during the dive. Snorkeling guests are also welcome, but should be advanced level and comfortable in deep water.
Dive charters includes continental breakfast, coffee, juice, sodas and deli sandwich lunch.

Molokini Crater is a tiny volcano islet that is located a few miles off of Maui`s leeward coast. In 1977, Molokini was declared a Marine Preserve, which makes it a great habitat for the abundant aquatic life and the most beautiful coral in Hawaii. Unlike shore dives in the surrounding islands, visibility at Molokini typically exceeds 150 feet, leaving you delighted and amazed.
On your dive, you will encounter thousands of reef fish, eels, and if you are lucky, White Tip Reef or Gray sharks, Manta Rays or a Whale Shark!
Other Molokini dive locations include: Tako flats, Orange Grove, Garbanzo`s Lair, The Cove and Edge of the world.
Turtle Town is a great dive and snorkel location if you want to see Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles. Turtles at Turtle Town are used to divers and snorkelers, which allow you to get close*.
Next to Turtle Town, is Makena Five Caves (or sometimes called Five Graves). Here you will encounter small caves and arches, which are frequently inhabited by sleeping White Tip Reef Sharks, turtles and schools of Squirrel fish.
Many different species of colorful tropical fish can be at these dive locations, as well as eels, beautiful sea slugs, Nudibranchs, Eagle Rays, Puffer fish, schools of Blue Striped Snapper and Yellow-Tailed Goat fish. The list could go on and on!
St Anthony is a 65-foot shrimp boat was intentionally sunk in October 1997, creating Maui`s most popular wreck dive and home to many Green Sea Turtles. The turtles can be seen on the decks, inside the V-berth and cabins. On occasion you even may encounter a turtle clinging on one of the horizontal or vertical bars while it rests. What a great dive!
Along the sandy bottom next to the wreck, old tires and cement blocks are scattered, creating an artificial reef that is fun to explore. In addition to turtles, you may see Moray Eels, Trumpetfish, Batfish, reef sharks, and an abundant supply of curious Milletseed Butterflyfish.
