Location description:
We offer commercial diving, u/w search and recovery, and marine salvage services. We have many years of experience and have had excellent results in locating and raising submerged vessels, vehicles, aircraft, recreational vehicles, snowmobiles, etc. from both open water and from under ice. We generally employ the use of lift bag systems that allow for careful repositioning and recovery with minimal and or no damage to the object.
As Commanding Officer of the Maine State Police Dive Team and in many commercial recoveries, Capt. Dave has many years of experience in locating, rigging, and recovery of numerous objects including vessels, trucks, autos, airplanes, helicopter, ATVs, and snowmobiles.
Dave has taught and trained numerous police and government agency dive teams as well as private groups in u/w search and recovery, ice diving, and advanced diving techniques.
Capt. Matt has “grown up†with diving, both recreational and commercial, and has acquired a great deal of knowledge and experience with a variety of u/w recoveries. After working as a boat captain and scuba diving instructor in the Virgin Islands, he is now back in Maine working in the marine industry. Matt and Dave have worked together on many recoveries of a variety of objects and are experienced and prepared to handle a wide range of u/w recoveries safely and efficiently.
Dive trips are custom scheduled for groups of six divers and planned based on the kinds of diving the group is interested in doing. We can often fit individuals in to trips with others.
Monhegan Island is a very popular destination because of the beautiful scenery, the great underwater terrain, and the abundance of marine life. In addition to the dramatic walls, we can often find seals to dive with.
We have our own wreck site for advanced divers. The Scottish Pride is a 44 ft. steel fishing vessel which is fully intact and lies offshore in 115’-120’ of water. The wreck is penetrable and there is an profusion of marine life to see.
We offer shark cage trips during August when the sharks are the most abundant in Maine waters.
We specialize in offshore fishing for sharks and Giant Bluefin Tuna.
Tag and Release Shark Fishing
Our shark fishing trips are usually most productive from mid-July through August when the sharks migrate through Maine waters.
Bluefin Tuna
Giant Bluefin Tuna fishing begins in June and continues through late summer and into October. Tuna are unpredictable but are probably the most exciting fish to catch on rod and reel. We have landed giants over 900 lbs. Fish are retained by the boat due to the Federal and State permits required.
Island Cruises
Cruising around the beautiful small islands of Muscongus and Penobscot Bays makes for a very enjoyable day for families and groups. The day’s cruise will be planned with individual groups based on what the clients want to do and see.
