Company description The Seahorse is a U.S.C.G. certified, 38 foot Delta custom scuba dive boat that operates out of Pompano Beach, Florida. Owned and operated by Captain Mike Halprin, the Seahorse features some of the best drift diving and wreck diving in Florida.
From the moment you board this custom 38` Delta dive boat you will see what set`s it apart. You are surrounded by colorful photographs and artwork. The entire cabin area is lined with photo display panels with pictures taken on the local reefs and wrecks. Overhead the cabin ceiling is covered by a striking 5` x 8` mural of the Caribbean Sea by local artist Jim Stilwell.
The feeling of being on a special boat continues as you go below deck to the dry cabin area. Here you will find a clean and roomy marine head that even includes a hot water shower.
Back on the main deck the island music and the Caribbean atmosphere smooth the transition to another world. This boat is truly special --- the kind of boat scuba divers like you deserve.

Location description: -- Recreational Diving ---
Two coral reefs run parallel to the Broward County shore at depths of 40 fsw and 60 fsw. These reefs lie about one mile off shore from the cities of Pompano Beach and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.. Ship wrecks lie between and beyond the reefs. Inhabitants include just about every fish and critter in Paul Humann`s series of books.
--- Reef Diving ---
Captain Mike`s favorite reef dives are Crab Cove and the Sanctuary North of the Hillsboro Inlet and Anglin Reef, Mike`s Twin Ledges and the Pompano Drop Off South of the inlet.
For additional information on our recreational reefs see Recreational Reef Sites.
--- Wreck Diving ---
Captain Mike`s favorite wreck dives are the Jay Scutti (5 Wreck Trek) (70`), the Ancient Mariner (72`), the Sea Emperor (72`), the Mercedes (97`), the Captain Dan (110`), the RSB-1(110`), and the Rodeo 25 (130`).

--- Technical Diving ---
Since 1985, the Broward County Artificial Reef Program has supported the sinking over 30 ships in depths ranging from 70 fsw to 270 fsw. With today`s technology these wrecks are all fair game for the properly trained and equipped technical diver.
Captain Mike`s favorites are the wrecks the Hydro Atlantic (172`), the Lowrance (200`), and the Ronald B. Johnson (260`).
Here is a description of some fo them:
The Jay Scutti
The Jay Scutti is a 95 foot harbor tug which was sunk on September 19, 1986 as part of the Broward County artificial reef program. Today she sits in 67 feet of water, with her bow pointed to the North.
There is a hawser attached to the stern of the wreck that runs South about 50 feet to the hulls of two sail boats, the Pride and then the Moon Shot.
Thus, you can dive 5 wrecks on one dive on what has popularly called the 5 Wreck Trek.
With all the growth and fish, you can find some great photo ops on this group of relatively shallow wrecks.
The Sea Emperor
The Sea Emperor is a 100-foot barge resting upside down in 72 feet or water. The east side is littered with huge concrete drainage pipes that have become the home for Sting Rays, Green Moray Eels, and Nurse Sharks.
The Captain Dan
Originally named the Hollyhock, this 175 foot long ex-USCG buoy tender was sunk as an artificial reef on February 20, 1990. She now lies in 110 feet of water with her bow pointing North.
With all the levels, passage ways, cabins, etc. this is one of the busiest wrecks in the area. See it once or see it many times --- it`s always a treat.
With the deck at 65 feet and the sand at 110 feet you can do this dive on air if you wish, but you`ll get a lot more bottom time on Nitrox i.e. 16 minutes on air and 29 minutes on EANx36.
The RSB-1
This 160 foot long ship sits upright in 110 feet of water with the bow facing North. There are large holes in the hold making this an easy wreck to penetrate.
With the deck at 90 feet and the sand at 110 feet you can do this dive on air if you wish.
and others.
