Some words about our staff:
* Eric Cheng, Publisher and Chief Editor
Eric owns and runs Wetpixel.com, the premiere online resource for underwater photographers. Hosting thousands registered underwater photographers internationally, Wetpixel's friendly community offers breaking news, reviews, features, community forums, image galleries, photo contests, photo expeditions, and more.
* James Wiseman, Co-Administrator
James Wiseman grew up in San Diego - spending about 3 days a week in the chilly water there. After getting a Masters and BS from U.C. Berkeley in Ocean Engineering, he to Houston TX to be a deep-water engineer. James is an avid enthusiast of "anything wet." His interests include diving, surfing, sailing, and of course underwater photography. Despite all of that -- and his "day job" -- he also makes time for his reef aquarium and helps run reefs.org, the largest information source on the net for saltwater aquariums. James shoots with the Fuji S2 in an Ikelite housing and has been an active participant here at Wetpixel since he started digital underwater photography in 1999.
* Dr. Alex Mustard, Co-Administrator
Alex Mustard has been taking underwater pictures since he was 9, and got his first digital SLR housing in 2002. Since then he has been actively pushing digital forward in the UK, running and speaking at the British Society of Underwater Photographers (BSOUP) first digital evening and being the main digital speaker at the UK's Visions in the Sea conference 2003. Alex's images have won many awards, most notably four from the prestigious Antibes Festival in 2002. Dr Mustard's day job is as a marine biologist.
...and others.
Location description: Testimonials:
* James Watt, Professional Underwater Photographer:
"Wetpixel.com is absolutely the best source of up-to-date information in the digital underwater photography world."
* Ike Brigham, Ikelite Founder and Resident Grouch:
"New Wetpixel is working fine with nothing for me to complain about. You know that is against my nature ..."
* Jim Abernethy, Shark Expert & Dive Operator:
"With the incredibly fast rate that digital photography advances, it is impossible to keep up on all the changes, which is why I use wetpixel.com as my main tool to keep up with the progress. At this forum, photographers from all over the world share information making it quite simply, the best resource on the planet for digital photography!"
* Berkley White, Photographer and Owner of Backscatter:
"The blog-o-sphere is full of misinformation, but Wetpixel has a strong set of administrators that keep the facts straight. I consider Wetpixel one of the greatest services in the underwater imaging community.... keeping us communicating, informed and inspired. Unfortunately, Eric Cheng is a whiner and smells really bad, but this site helps keep him off the streets."
