Company description
Farallon Diver Propulsion Vehicles have applications in nearly all aspects of diving. From Military to Commercial Farallon DPVs are in use around the world. Below are some of the applications for which one or more models of Farallon are well suited:
Sports / Recreational Diving
More and more recreational divers are becoming interested in Farallon DPVs. They can experience more of the aquatic environment on each dive. Touring reefs and shallow wrecks becomes an even greater adventure aboard a Farallon. In many locations, Farallons can replace the need for a boat altogether. The divers can transit straight from the shore to a favorite dive site, cover more territory than swimming would allow and return to the shore, all the while using less energy (and probably less air!)
Resorts and Dive Boat Operators
Dive operators have discovered that their customers enjoy the thrill of ``flying`` through the water on Farallon DPVs. More and more operators are offering DPVs for rent on a per-dive or hourly basis. Operators enjoy an added source of revenue and can offer an added value to their customers.
Technical Diving
Technical diving is one of the fastest growing sectors of underwater activity. Growing numbers of divers are discovering the excitement and challenges of deep wrecks, deep reefs and other ventures that go beyond traditional recreational diving. More divers are taking advantage of the excellent training being offered by various agencies in this exciting new aspect of diving. Farallon Diver Propulsion Vehicles often prove invaluable to divers whose objectives go beyond traditional recreational limits in terms of depth, conditions and environment. Farallons are often the DPV of choice for such challenging diving because of their robustness and ability to go to great depths (tested to 400 ft - 122m).
Underwater Cinematography and Video
Farallon DPVs have been used successfully by numerous film and video professionals. With a camera mounted on either a single DPV or a Twin, the cinematographer has a stable, mobile platform that provides a reasonable velocity and maneuverability for photographing aquatic life. Farallon DPVs were used successfully as camera platforms for a
recent IMAX film.
Commercial Diving
Commercial diving encompasses a wide variety of activities. From salvage divers to oil field inspectors - from construction workers to treasure hunters - the uses for Farallon DPVs cover a wide range. In the oil fields, Farallons are used to inspect platform and pipelines. In large salvage and construction operations, Farallon DPVs allow divers to move materials as well as themselves from place to place faster with less effort and less diver fatigue.
Science And Education
More research than ever before is being done in the oceans and fresh water bodies of the world. Farallon DPVs are useful to scientists and educators as they survey large areas to study reefs, marine animal and plant life, beaches and the incredible number of mysteries yet to be solved.
Law Enforcement
Various law enforcement agencies have a variety of uses for Farallon DPVs. In some areas, Farallons assist divers in covering large search areas. In certain parts of the world Farallon DPVs have applications in the prevention of drug smuggling and the apprehension of those involved.
Coast Guard
Coast Guard application for Farallon DPVs include such tasks as rescue and search and recovery operations. At times, ship hull inspections are necessary. This is an excellent application for either the MK7 or MK8 DPV.
Military
Such tasks as insertion or extraction of underwater operatives have been effectively accomplished using a Farallon DPV. Internationally, Farallons have been used in surveillance work, supervision of swimmer and diver training, long range transit of materials, underwater surveys, repairs of equipment, and certain kinds of counter-terrorist activities.

Some of our products
The Farallon Mk series represents the best technology available for Diver Propulsion Vehicles (DPVs). Featuring solid state, digital control circuitry, Farallon DPVs provide the ultimate in diver transportation. All electronic functions are controlled by digital, solid state circuitry. Farallon DPVs are made in Canada.
Farallon Mk 8
The Mk8 has infinitely variable speed control through dual fingertip triggers. When the diver lets go of the switch, the motor stops immediately - an important safety benefit. A viewport provides battery charge status so the diver can monitor his power use. The Mk8 comes complete with battery pack, 24-hour battery charger, riding saddle and user manual.
The Mk8 is an excellent vehicle for underwater inspection, search and recovery operations, exploration or in any application where a diver needs to cover an extended distance. Divers use less energy, experience less fatigue, and often can extend the time of their dive through the use of a Farallon DPV
Farallon Mk 7-E
The Mk7 comes complete with battery pack, 24-hour battery charger, riding saddle and user manual.
The Mk7 DPV is an excellent vehicle for short-range transit. While it does not have a standard speed variation capability, its 2.75 MPH (4.0 K/h) speed moves the diver comfortably yet briskly through the water.
The Mk7 is an excellent vehicle for wreck diving, certain search and recovery applications, exploration, inspections, and a wide variety of recreational diving applications.
The Mk 7-E with variable speed control that comes standard on the Mk8. For underwater applications requiring a smaller unit, a lower speed level and less travel distance, the Mk7-E fills the need. Its smaller size and lighter weight make the
Mk7-E ideal in restricted environments.
Dive Rite Arrow
Dive Rite offers three models of the Arrow: Wreck, Cave, and Explorer. Each design maximized for the type of diving.
By using the electronic speed control switch, you can reduce the rate so your dive buddies can keep up and increase the scooter ``run time``.
Some dives require the use of specialty tools to get the job done.
Whether you`re pushing a large amount of equipment, trying to minimize gas consumption, or you need to get to your destination in a hurry, the Dive Rite Arrow is your solution.
The Dive Rite Arrow sports some of the latest technology to ensure safe operation, durability, speed, and dependability.
Made of high grade aluminum, the Arrow is rated for a depth of 400`!
Dolly
Heavy duty, wheeled dolly for land transport (fits Mk 8 and Mk 7-E). Also available with optional balloon wheels, ideal for sandy beaches.
Gauge Mount
Holds depth gauge, compass, etc.
Fast Charger
The 24v Fast Charger recharges batteries in approximately 6 hours. (Note, that this is the standard charger included with all new units)
