Discover the fun and excitement of Scuba Diving - Learn to scuba diving in Maui, Hawaii.
No experience necessary. All dives are guided by a professional scuba instructor.
Suitable for ages 10 and above.
Boat dives at a shallow-water location with a well-developed reef, a wide variety of colorful, tropical fishes. You will receive instruction in our air conditioned classroom by a Professional Scuba Instructor. The instruction will encompass mask flooding and clearing, regulator removal and replacement, hand signals for underwater communication, and basic information on scuba gear. Lahaina Divers personnel will monitor your depth, air supply, buoyancy, and comfort level at all times. The maximum depth on these dives is 40ft, with many sites averaging in the 20 to 25ft range. The instructor will take you in a group of no more than 4 Discover Scuba Divers. Discover Scuba Dives count toward a full Scuba Certification.
Discover Turtle Reef: The only location to observe ``Endangered Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles`` in a natural setting: the extensive coral reef along the west side of Maui has provided an ideal location for the turtles to flourish. You also observe tropical fishes, moray eels, the Humuhumunukunukuapu`aa (the hawaii state fish), octopus (locals call them ``Tako``), crustaceans, many varieties of corals, frog fish, and occasionally spotted Eagle Rays.
Dive sites are located along West Maui, approximately a 15 minute boat ride from Lahaina Harbor. Charter price includes all gear and two dives. Please see charter schedule.

Location description: Located in the heart of the historical village of Lahaina Towne, Hawaiian diving at its best at pristine Molokini Crater, the Cathedrals of Lanai, Turtle Reef aboard.
Lahaina Divers operates Maui`s largest, most comfortable and most reliable boats: Dominion and Dauntless. These custom built vessels are extremely seaworthy, and offer a comfortable surrounding for passengers to and from the dive sites.
Our Dive Vessels: Dominion and Dauntless are 46 feet in length and were built in Slidell, Louisiana. Each vessel has twin Cummins 430 horsepower diesel engines and is USCG certified. We take a max of 24 divers on each vessel. Each has two fresh water showers, a fly bridge with viewing / seating for 12 guests, handicap accessible boarding and bathroom, pvc tank holds, sturdy dual ladders for easy exiting from the water to the vessel, and a “killer” stereo system.
For underwater photographers, both vessels feature a stable interior table for setting up photo equipment, and fresh water buckets for camera rinse.
West Maui has a number of dive and snorkel sites to offer. Conveniently located in the heart of Lahaina and the west side of Maui, Lahaina Divers has great deals on rental gear and we can give you the best advice on where to go, as dive conditions can vary greatly from season to season or even day to day. Lahaina Divers is here to make your vacation special. We`re more than happy to answer questions or describe the full range of items and services we have available.
The best way to visit these sites is aboard Lahaina Divers` large, comfortable dive boats. We run a variety of trips every day, both morning and afternoon.
*Honolua Bay: Honolua Bay`s protected setting can provide calm, clear waters when strong trade winds blow out other nearby spots. Look for excellent coral formations on both sides of the sand channel that runs down the center of the bay.
*Kapalua Bay: The points that extend out to sea at both ends of Kapalua Bay generally provide protected conditions for both snorkeling and scuba. The best diving is near the rocky outcroppings at both ends of the bay.
*Napili Bay is similar to Kapalua Bay and may be a more convenient snorkeling site for those staying in the immediate area.
*Kahekili Park (Old Airport): A beautiful, shallow-water reef just 100 feet out from the park`s bath house.
Facilities: Kahekili boasts west Maui`s best and most modern facilities. You`ll find Men`s and Ladies` rooms, outdoor showers, covered picnic tables and plenty of paved parking.
*Black Rock Point: One of Maui`s most popular dive and snorkel spots. Navigation is easy as you swim out along the sheer face of Black Rock, then back track to your starting point on the beach.
*Olowalu: One of Maui`s largest and most beautiful coral gardens, starting just off shore and covering over 50 acres. Several large colonies of green sea turtles live among the coral.
