Company description Looking to get certified to scuba dive? Ohio Scuba offers private and semi-private, flexibly scheduled scuba certification courses that make learning to dive easier, safer and more enjoyable than ever before! It`s a fact that when it comes to education in general, smaller class size means more time available for the teacher to spend with each student. We also realize that between work, school and other obligations most people have a pretty tight schedule. Perhaps you already called a dive shop and received ``their upcoming class schedule.`` Does it match yours ideally? Ohio Scuba offers its students a unique alternative to the more traditional, dive shop approach. You can choose what best fits your schedule, and a fully-insured PADI Professional Instructor works directly with you in a private or semi-private environment. This way, the student is guaranteed the safest and most productive training possible.
Ohio Scuba Training Classes:
Open Water Diver Course,
Advanced Open Water Diver,
Rescue Diver,
Emergency First Response (formerly Medic First Aid),
PADI Divemaster,
Scuba Tune-up & Review,
Peak Performance Buoyancy (Specialty),
Deep Diver (Specialty),
Wreck Diver (Specialty).
There are 3 requirements to get certified PADI Open Water Diver:
1. Academic (Home Study)
This is broken down into 5 modules/chapters. With the home study option, you cut the costs of classroom instruction. You receive your courseware in advance. Then, you watch a video and read the manual, or use a multimedia CDROM. You spend virtually no time in a classroom, and more time underwater. After the Academic session, you will have a final exam when you`re ready.
2. Confined Water Practice Sessions
The confined water practice sessions are also broken down into 5 modules. Confined water training is done in our heated private pool (summer) or at the Fairborn YMCA (winter), not in a crowded public one. With each new skill you learn, the more comfortable you will become with scuba and breathing underwater. There is also a short swim test and survival float.
3. Open Water Sessions (Check Out Dives, Summer only)
During the Open Water dives, we use all of the scuba information and skills that you have mastered during the academic and pool sessions. The dives will take place on two separate days, with two dives on each day at a local quarry. Here you will demonstrate the skills that you learned in the pool. It is recommended that you have your own mask, snorkel, and fins for the Open Water training. During the winter months, or if you prefer to do your open water elsewhere, we can do only the academic and confined water portions. We`ll then give you a referral card which is accepted at all PADI training facilities worldwide, or finish your open water here in the summer.
PADI Open Water Diver Course Fee Schedule:
- Academic & Confined Water (includes courseware, gear rental) $229
- Open Water Check Out Dives (includes gear rental, park fees) $150

To participate in this program, you must be a certified Open Water diver. Course Includes:
