Company description With over 35 years of experience serving divers, Scuba Diving Schools of Fort Worth is dedicated to the development of the sport of Scuba Diving along with the development of divers. Scuba diving is serious fun and we want you to enjoy it as much as we do. SSI`s family of entry-level scuba and snorkeling programs are designed to get you, your family, and friends into the water as quickly as possible, while at the same time satisfying your individual training needs.
SSI`s Personalized Training Approach accelerates the process of making you a serious diver in a way that is comfortable and enjoyable for you. After all, everyone learns at a different pace and has personal objectives for their diving.
Meeting your personal objectives is the job of SSI professional Scuba Schools and Instructors. Whether your goal is to dive on shallow water reefs, deep water wrecks, or any other type of diving, we can create a training program just for you and get you started on a lifetime of exciting adventure.
Children 10 to 15 can also begin a lifetime of adventure with SSI`s Junior Open Water Diver program; an entry-level certification program for kids.
In our Basic Class we teach you everything you need to know about getting started in diving and then some. Our instructors have learned what to expect through years of experience and they know how to handle whatever might come up. That`s the knowledge we instill in all of our students. When you leave us you will have all the knowledge it takes to progress through the diving world.
Location description: Texas Flower Gardens
The top of the reef is within 55 feet of the surface and most diving is at a depth of 60 to 85 feet.
This exciting trip allows the opportunity for up to five dives at the Flower Gardens. Most of the fish life that is in the Caribbean is here. The difference is that the Gulf of Mexico fish are bigger and more abundant. An close encounter with a manta ray is always a strong possibility.
Stetson Bank is covered with brown fire coral and bed, yellow, black, and grey sponges. This creates a unique, rich, colorful background. Stetson is very small; just a few pinnacles, so the concentration of marine like is tremendous. The opportunity to make two dives on Stetson will be available.
Sharks At the Flower Gardens
If you want to see a hammerhead shark, we have the trip for you. When the water temperature in the Gulf of Mexico is cooler (between 65-70) the hammerhead sharks frequent the Flower Gardens. In addition the large manta rays and the small devil rays are at these coral reefs. So if you are up for some thrilling diving join us in March or May for a trip to the Flower Gardens.
In addition to the cooler water these trips usually have some current and some wave action, so please be prepared for these conditions. You must sign up for these trips will in advance, as it is very popular.
