Caribbean and local dive trips are offered each month so that students can experience ultimate SCUBA diving while still training! SPE Dive School, LLC graduates also receive free lifetime membership to the FOMP Dive Clubâ„¢, gaining access to SCUBA diving travel and diver education information year-round.
FLEXIBILITY
The SCUBA Professional Education Dive School`sâ„¢ Open Water (beginner) SCUBA Course is formatted specifically for the busy individual with limited scheduling flexibility. Course lectures and SCUBA diving pool sessions are designed so that a student may `bounce` from session to session if needed, stopping and starting where she/he left off.
COMFORT
All pool sessions are conducted in heated pools at facilities around the Washington DC area that provide free parking and convenient Metro accessibility.
LIFETIME SERVICE
If you are unable to complete a course you have already started you may return during any future SCUBA class and finish-up. We track your progress. You may come in for a brush-up session, full review course, or gear consultation at any time free of charge. This is a guarantee we give you, for life!
The Open Water SCUBA Certification Course (entry level) consists of three parts:
•pool sessions,
•classroom sessions and
•open water check out dives.
As pool and classroom sessions are time consuming, it is recommended that they be completed before, not during your vacation. The course meetings last approximately 4 hours: about 1 Ð… hour in the pool (conducted in heated pools) and 2 Ð… hours in the classroom. The final requirement for certification includes the actual dives in open water, which can be completed any time after successful completion of the pool and classroom sessions during your next vacation.
Advanced & Specialty SCUBA Certifications:
Offered during all Grand Cayman Island trips. After completion of dives required for open water certification, you may continue diving towards higher certification levels such as advanced open water, rescue diver, Nitrox, underwater photography, deep diver, night diver, wreck diver, research diver, etc.
NOTE: Most students choose to complete requirements for open water and advanced open water certification during the Cayman Island weekend trips as it is easily incorporated into the dive schedule. A Sunday stay is required in order to complete the advanced certification training.
Location description: Dive Training Trips
Monthly weekend diving trips to Grand Cayman Island are scheduled so that you may complete the training dives required for Open Water Certification. You can also choose to complete your SCUBA diving certification dives on your own vacation or at a local quarry or lake.
For the past 16 years, each month SPE Dive School, LLC students have been enjoying a unique dive vacation training experience on Grand Cayman Island, one of the world`s highest rated and safest diving locales. Grand Cayman provides a remarkable SCUBA dive vacation which is easily accessible and affordable. Take a look at some reasons why we think it`s the ultimate location whether you`re a student diver, advance certified or just along for the ride:
Short travel time (3-hours DC to GCI!); you can arrive on Friday and leave as early as Sunday; or stay as long as you wish.
Maximum comfort, with water visibility of the highest in the Caribbean at 200 ft - 300 ft so you can see your buddies and your boat at all times during your dive. Water temperature hits a low of only 83° to a high of 89°, which means no confining wetsuits!
