Company description Thank you for your interest in Scuba Training Center, where you can get quality, safe, and most of all the scheduling you need so that your Scuba Training Center experience is fun.
We feel that your inquiry with us is the second most important step to getting you involved in Scuba Diving. The most important issue to us is You. When I say ``You`` that means making sure you have fun throughout your training in a safe learning manner.
Our program is based on student paced time frame. We here at Scuba Training Center let you tell us when you are ready to go on your first open water adventure, it may be to a local location or one of our mini vacation locations here in Texas or possibly an exotic trip to the Caribbean. Again that is left up to you and your group to decide.
What`s involved?
Personal Gear
You will need to purchase mask, fins, snorkel, and boots. Personal gear packages are available at STC.
Open Water Classes
Student Kit Includes (logbook, workbook, open water manual, student folder, dive table and home study video). Discounts are available for couples.
Pool Training
Includes an Instructor, the pool, air tank, regulator, BCD, weights, and weight belts.
Open Water Dives
This portion of your training is your choice.
Area diving - Santa Rosa, NM (Blue Hole), or area lakes weather and temperature permitting.
Mini Vacation - Balmorhea, TX or Possum Kingdom, TX
Private Open Water classes available.
SSI SPECIALTY COURSES
Specialty activities introduce certified divers to a whole new world of diving opportunities. Learning is easy. You can purchase SSI Specialty manuals and videos from STC. Then enroll in a specialty course, because it is recommended that you practice specialized scuba skills with an SSI Advanced Instructor.
Knowledge. Using the SSI education system you will learn the information about specific types of specialty diving that would take you years of diving to learn on your own.
Skills. Under the guidance of an SSI Instructor, you will learn the correct skills and techniques associated with the specialties of your choice to make you a more comfortable and confident diver.
Equipment. You will learn how to use an expanded range of equipment to help you make your dives more enjoyable and worthwhile.

SSI ADVANCED OPEN WATER
Many of the more exciting, intriguing dive sites are found in waters that require advanced training. The advanced class covers the knowledge, skills & equipment in these four areas: deep, night/limited visibility, search and recovery and navigation.
What do I need?
Prerequisites
Open Water Certified
Minimum of 15 years Old
24 or more logged dive (must be completed before you receive your advanced card)
Medical History form (must be completed and signed if necessary)
Actual Open water will be determined by you/your group. please contact STC for our next class.

SSI STRESS AND RESCUE COURSE
Diver Stress & Rescue is the next course recommended after Open Water Diver, because it helps you gain confidence and makes you a better buddy.
Knowledge. You will learn the signs of stress, and how to deal with stress in yourself and other divers before the dive, during the dive and after the dive. Also, you will learn about different personality types and the common actions of each type in stressful situations.
Skills. You will learn skills and techniques to help you and other divers prevent and overcome common stressors associated with diving. You will also learn self aid and buddy aid skills for potentially stressful and/or rescue situations.
Equipment. You will learn about how your equipment can help you to stay relaxed and enjoy every dive, what equipment is required in various rescue situations and how to use your equipment properly in the event of a rescue.
SSI PROFESSIONAL
SSI Dive Control Specialist is SSI`s initial dive leadership level and is considered by many as the ``fun`` leadership rating. That`s because you can do more than any other entry-level dive leader. You can do more because you receive both dive master and assistant instructor training in the SSI Dive Control Specialist course. With other agencies, these courses are separate.
You will study advanced physics, physiology and decompression theory. You`ll practice advanced rescue techniques, fine-tune your diving skills and learn the basics of teaching.
Learn to be a Scuba Instructor the ``SSI Way.`` Most instructor programs focus only on teaching diving. However, most dive businesses require much more of instructors than merely teaching. The SSI Instructor Training Course (ITC) prepares you to become an active member of the scuba industry, a successful educator, and a valuable dive business employee.
