Company description
Welcome to Eaglehawk Dive Centre , situated at Eaglehawk Neck in southeast Tasmania approximately 75km from Hobart. The landform in this part of the island results in a great diversity of scuba diving sites. From the famous Waterfall Bay caves, the historic wreck of the SS Nord with huge schools of fish, Giant Kelp forests and bizarre seadragons. A PADI 5 Star facility we offer courses from Discover Scuba Diving, a one day adventure activity, through to Assistant instructor. Our staff, several of who are marine biologists, have extensive local knowledge from thousands of hours spent diving around the Tasmanian coast.
At Eaglehawk Dive Centre, we want to make your dive trip an unforgettable experience. Here, the fun doesn`t stop the moment you get out of the water. Our on site Divers Lodge offers you a home during your stay. Enjoy a coffee or a home-cooked dinner in the lodge or dine out at one of the local pubs, restaurants or cafes. Relax on the verandah of the lodge with a cold beer and enjoy the local wildlife wandering through the grounds or the spectacular view over Pirates Bay and the Tasman Peninsula. Leisurely explore the beautiful Tasman National Park or the historical surroundings associated with the Port Arthur Convict settlement. But for now... enjoy exploring our website!
Eaglehawk Dive Centre is accredited by the Tourism Council Tasmania.
The Eaglehawk Dive Centre (EDC) was formed by Mick Baron (General & Account Manager) and Gary Myors (Manager Operations, Marketing and Sales)in 1991. David Perkins joined the team in 2001 as a director and Training Manager.
It is situated on the spectacular Tasman Peninsula, 80 km from Hobart - Tasmania`s capital - and 45 minutes from the airport (click here for a map).
Our operation caters for all requirements of the visiting scuba diver. Our services include boat dives, accommodation, air fills, gear hire, courses, dive shop, and much more.
Most of our dive sites are accessible only by boat. Shore diving is limited due to the extremely rugged and very photogenic coastline with cliffs towering from sea level to 1000 feet.
The EDC is an Accredited Tourism Business by the Tourism Council
Accommodation can be arranged through us. Either at local hotels or - for the budget conscious - at the Dive Centre itself. The Centre consists of a large building divided into several rooms - kitchen/lounge, lecture room, two showers and toilet, dive shop and a large open area for vessel storage and gear. An area upstairs provides low cost accommodation.
We offer expert training with highly qualified instructors on all PADI courses.
Our course packages include:
full gear hire (Open Water only),
boat dives,
air fills,
accommodation at the Dive Centre,
course material and all course fees.
PADI Diving Society members can now receive free accommodation in the Divers Lodge at Eaglehawk Dive Centre.Just book a group of five or more for a minimum of 4 dives over two day and the group will stay for free!
