Company description The South West Rocks Dive Centre is family owned and operated and has been conducting daily charter dives to Fish Rock since 1980. Catering to all levels of experience, our friendly staff will ensure your visit to South West Rocks is relaxing and enjoyable.
Specialising in dive and accommodation packages for the travelling diver, there`s no better way to experience the best that this very special area has to offer.
The quality of diving at South West Rocks is world class.
Fish Rock Cave, the best known attraction, is unique and has been recognised in recent years by a number of well known publications as one of Australia`s best dives.
Research has identified South West Rocks as one of the top three locations to find Grey Nurse Sharks on the east coast of Australia. Fish Rock and Green Island are critical habitat areas for the Grey Nurse Sharks, which can be found at these locations most of the year.
Double dives are conducted daily on board our three surveyed dive vessels, and sites are selected to suit the experience of the divers and the conditions on the day. We appreciate that most divers travel to South West Rocks to see Fish Rock Cave and the Grey Nurse sharks, and priority is given to these destinations.
The South West Rocks Dive Centre offers a number of courses to suit all levels of experience.
If you are not a certified diver, then you can `Experience Scuba` through an introductory dive with an instructor.
Learning to Dive in an Open Water Course is your first step to becoming a diver. You can continue learning and gaining valuable knowlege and experience by participating in specialty courses.
There are four requirements to successful diving:
-Proper Knowledge
Proper knowlege is best learnt through a professional teaching system.
-Proper Skills
The best way to develop your skills is from a qualified Instructor at a professional Scuba School.
-Proper Equipment
The only safe, comfortable and enjoyable way to go diving is with proper equipment.
-Experience
Diving as much as possible will increase your experience.
The South West Rocks Dive Centre undoubtedly offers the best quality divers accommodation in northern New South Wales.
We are able to provide quality accommodation, even in holiday times. Our on-site Lodge style accommodation is capable of holding up to 22 people comfortably, and is purpose built for divers by divers!.
We supply pillows and sheets for the beds and also have limited blankets available. A continental breakfast is provided daily with the accommodation.

Location description: Australia`s best ocean cave dive, and voted among the top ten dive sites in Australia, Fish Rock is located just over two kilometres off Smoky Cape at South West Rocks on the New South Wales Mid North Coast.
The thrill of entering a 125 metre long cave and travelling right through the center of a small island is one dive that you will not want to miss. As well as the cave itself, Fish Rock is home to such an amazing array of marine life that you will easily understand how the island came to be named. This is a dive location that must be included in your dive itinerary!
Fish Rock and Green Island are critical habitat areas for the Grey Nurse sharks, which live here in large numbers most of the year.

Created by a fault in the island, Fish Rock Cave runs from the deeper seaward entrance at 24 metres, 125 metres through the rock emerging into the blue, fish filled, silhouetted shallower entrance fringed by pink gorgonian corals at 12 metres.
South West Rocks is located on the NSW Mid North Coast, directly between Sydney and Brisbane. We are approximately 5 hours drive north of Sydney and 6 hours south of Brisbane.
(One hour south of Coffs Harbour)
If you do not have your own vehicle, a regular bus and train service operates along the coast from Sydney to Brisbane, and can drop you off and pick you up at Kempsey.
We provide a complementary pick-up service for travelling divers, and will pick you up at Kempsey and transport you back to South West Rocks (25mins drive).
Accomodation:
The divers lodge is located above the dive shop. It has three large bedrooms, four showers and two toilets which are located adjacent to the bedrooms. A kitchen is located in the recreation room, with a large refrigerator to keep your drinks cold. Electric fry pans and a microwave are available to cook dinner. A Gas barbecue is also available outside for use by guests.
After diving, you can relax in the huge air-conditioned/heated recreation room which is equipped with a pool table, huge television, vcr, dvd, video library as well as plenty of space to just write up your log book.
Adjacent to the divers` accommodation there is a small shopping mall with a supermarket, seafood takeaway and laundromat. The mall is an excellent place to get lunch after your dive or for those supplies for a barbecue dinner.
A licensed restaurant is just 50 metres away and it is an easy, relaxing walk to the club and other restaurants. There is plenty of parking in the large off-street car park in front of the dive shop.
