Company description SUBS is a non-profit making social diving and snorkelling club for gay men and lesbians and their friends in Sydney and beyond. The club was formed in 1993, and has grown to around 90 members. Membership is open to gay men and lesbians and their friends with a common interest in diving or snorkelling. In 2003 we changed our name from Sydney Underwater Bushwalking Society.
We dive at least twice a month in and around Sydney, and include several trips per year to dive on the North and South Coasts. Our dive days include both shore and boat dives. Check out our Dive calendar for a list of dives planned for the next month or so. The dive calendar indicates which dives are also suitable for snorkellers.
Once each year we organise an overseas diving trip, to locations within the South Pacific. In 2001 we spent a week in the Coral Sea, on the Undersea Explorer, with marine biologist, Mike Scotland. Our trip in 2000 was a week in Komodo, Indonesia, on the live-aboard ``Evening Star``. Other overseas trips have included the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu and Papua New Guinea.The club is co-sponsoring this event, where we can all get to know our American dive friends. Twenty-five or so divers from the Northern Hemisphere are coming to Oz for Mardi Gras and then reef diving out of Cairns/Port Douglas.

Membership fees are AU $35 for individual membership, or AU $50 for household membership.
