The Open Water course is by far our most popular diving program. Graduates are permitted to dive to 18 metres with a similar or higher qualified buddy. Junior divers must dive with a similar or higher qualified buddy who is an adult.
The program includes knowledge development in the areas of diving physics, physiology, local area conditions and environment. Practical skills are developed in the pool and four open water dives are conducted in Port Phillip Bay over two days. This course is scheduled concurrently with Scuba Diver. The course fee includes study text and videos or a three part CD-ROM pack, deluxe log book and recreational dive planner, photos, certificate and certification card.
Candidates are fitted with new mask snorkel boots fins and stock wet suit which they maintain for the duration of the program. Upon completion the diving equipment may be returned or purchased. If purchased, a refund of $154 is offered from the purchase price. An additional discount of 10% is available to Members of the Interdive Society.
If candidates so require, knowledge development lectures are available for this course at an additional $100.00 per person.
This course starts the moment a candidate registers, as our study at home materials are supplied as soon as a deposit of $150.00 is received.
