Company description

Cook Island Divers was the First Dive Company established in the Cook Islands and has been owned and operated by Greg Wilson since day one. Cook Island Divers has been built up and improved over the years to stay at the cutting edge of the Dive Industry not only here in the Cooks, but worldwide. Here at Cook Island Divers, we are very proud to be able to inform you that our operation was voted into the top five Pacific Dive Operators or Resorts in the inaugural Rodales Scuba Diving Readers choice poll. We feel this is especially significant, given the small numeric size of our destination. We are the only internationally registered Dive Operation in the Cooks, holding affiliation with PIRA [PADI International Resort Association] of which we are foundation members and also with the NAUI and SSI Associations. All our dives are led by registered leadership personnel, the only dive operation here in Rarotonga staffed entirely by registered Leadership personnel. Greg is our chief Instructor, and has been teaching diving right here since 1973 and with over 10,000 dives around Rarotonga he knows the reefs better than anyone else. Diving in the Cook Islands offers crystal clear waters, [seldom less than 100ft visibility] water temperatures between 75 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit (24-30C), and in our case pleasantly short trips to and from our various dive sites. Cook Island Divers runs two trips daily at 8.00am and 1.00pm. We give you the option of either doing a single tank dive or a two tank dive at both of these times. Night dives are also available every night of the week. We also like to operate with small groups. One instructor with up to 8 qualified divers. If you are looking at bringing a bigger group than this we can spread you out over our four boats accordingly. After the dive/s, we have a large gear washing area and a lockable storage area for you to leave your equipment to dry between trips. There is also a fresh hot water shower to rinse your self off or take a plunge in our heated swimming pool, while your Dive guide writes your dive up, and gets the tea and coffee organised. We are the only operator running four tours daily and always providing a registered instructor/guide in the water with our divers. These dive tours are only for certified divers, so no trainees will be on the boats with you. Between the dives on a two tank trip we provide hot and cold drinks, and a light snack. E Q U I P M E N T Our rental equipment consists of: U.S. Divers Conshelf Regulators, all fitted with safe seconds, and gauges in either Metric or Imperial. TUSA ADV. Buoyancy Compensators. 3MM spring suits are supplied as part of the cost during the cooler months of the year. Full-foot Fins and a large selection of Masks and Snorkels. Aluminium tanks in a variety of sizes and all in test. We are the Major Tank Testing and High Pressure Equipment Service Centre for the Cook Islands. We have the largest capacity tanks available on the island. Our air is supplied by modern high speed compressors and we are capable of filling a tank every 2.5 minutes. We operate Rarotonga’s only fully serviced dive base, with heated SCUBA Training pool, hot showers, changing facilities, toilets etc. plus lock up storage available for customer dive equipment.
