Company description In front of Moorea island, the dive center welcomes you in marvelous traditionals rooms, built in a majestic coconut tree plantation, close to the lagoon.
Aquatica Dive Center`s team is C.M.A.S and P.A.D.I qualified. They come with you to explore our beautifull undersea world in the lagoon for beginners, or on ocean side for advanced divers.
Though Aquatica Dive Center`s first activity is SCUBA DIVING, the center is also a water sports center. Among those ACTIVITIES, you will be able to :
- paticipate to Shark Feeding,
- try new amazing sensations with the revolutionary submarine scooter (Tiki Bob),
- discover without getting wet the wonders of underwater nature (Glass bottom boat, fish feeding),
- go in Water skiing on the lagoon,
- marvel at the dolphins at the sunset,
- etc.
Except the heaven`s look like of the center, with its traditionnal constructions, its beach on the lagoon side, the Aquatica Dive Center puts you everything needed at your disposal so as to dive in the very best conditions. Once out of the water, hot showers and towels are put at your disposal too.
You or your spouse can wait for a second dive at the private beach at about ten meters from the center.
You can also wait in the reception room and we will give you a cup of coffee.
For the training sessions, premises with video equipment will help you to improve your technique.
We are also qualified to train children, from 8 years old, with the equipment that fits to their morphology.
Diving spots has been choosen so as to offer divers on all levels extreme sensations: lagoon or ocean dives, wrecks exploration, corals garden, gorgons, reef`s splits, breathtaking slopes, pelagic fish, sharks, turtles, etc.
Both sides of Tahiti are accessible quickly, and allow you to adapt to the weather.
Visibility vary from 50 to 15 meters depending on the weather. Water temperature vary from 22 to 28°C.
You will be able to meet humpback whales close to our diving spots, between July and October, and dolphins in each ocean dive at the spot called ``The spring``. Encounter the most exotic wildlife : turtles, Napoleon fish, etc.
At your disposal : 3 dives everyday, 7 days a week, even on holidays. In this activity, let us suggest you :
Discover Scuba Diving : every day at 11:00 am or 14:00 pm.
Lagoon Dive : for beginners, childrens or for getting your level back.
Ocean Dive : for experienced divers.
Night Dive : each wednesday night. Reservation only.
Wrecks Dives : for all levels; a schooner at 25 meters, a Catalina plane at 15 meters, a Cesna plane at 6 meters.
Deep Dives up to 60 m ! : on demand, for the most experienced divers.
Vertiginous Slopes and Splits Dives.
Corals Garden Dives : soft water underwater springs and coral`s peaks.
Pass Dives with slopes covered with gorgons.
Two Tanks Dive : allow you to dive twice an outing, so as to get half a day to go sightseeing in Tahiti. The prices are even more interresting !
Nitrox Dive : The Aquatica Dive Center is the only one in French Polynesia to get a NITROX station. This allow you to dive few hours before your departure.
For your comfort :
You take on board on our boats easily from our private hulk. All the equipment is included in the dives`s price list, except the shorty. Diving equipment is brand new and will fit to anyone.
Location description: Dive sites:
``THE CORALS GARDEN``
Location : In the district of Paea, on the west coast of Tahiti.
Diving : The dive owes its name to the various corals as montipora, porite, pocillopora that cover the gentle slope. Ther are clams brightly colored and sea anemone with clown fish. You can always see numerous tropical fish, Moray Eels, sometimes a turtle and and very often tunas and tazards.
``MEA SPLIT DROP OFF``
Location : In the district of Paea. On the west coast of Tahiti.
Diving : An amazing vertically split where you will see black corals, sea anemones, numerous pelagic fish, and sometimes white tipped reef sharks.
``The GORGONIA``
Location : In the district of Paea, on the west coast of Tahiti, this dive is located in a pass.
Diving : The dive owes its name to a fantastic gorgonia corals covered roof. You will see a white tipped reef shark sleeping in a split.
``The FARE MITI SPLIT``
Location : In the district of Paea, on the west coast of Tahiti.
Diving : Vertically split where you can see humphead wrasse, pelagic fish, Moray Eels, white tipped reef shark.
``THE SPRING``
Location : In the district of Punaauia, on the west coast of Tahiti.
Diving : The dive owes its name to a fresh water spring which rises in the sea at the top of a coral head.
For your first visit at least, choose a calm day as the emission is the more visible on the surface.
The spring rises 5-6 meters below the surface. It can easily be located because of the column of rippling water escaping from it. The slope of the peak facing the open sea drops to a depth of 15-16 meters. It is perforated with grottos, one of which, at a depth of at least 14 meters, often shelters a lagoon shark or during the night, a Napoleon.
On either side of the spring, a beautiful valley extends parallel to the coast. Both sides are worthy of always rich in fish : you will see shoals of surmullets, blue-lined sea perchs, and sea-pike barracudas. The large clumps of living porites which constellate the valley, shelter dens population of red mullets, squirrel fish and soldier fish.
``St ETIENNE DROP OFF``
Location : In the district of Punaauia, the reef plunges into the ocean in a succession of vertical walls. On the west coast of Tahiti..
Diving : The site merits several dives. The edge of the dropp-off is punstuated by large formations of madrepores with contorted outlines. At night, cowries, spiny lobsters and squill-fish appear, although they are becoming more and more rare.
Experienced divers will be able to descend the succession of vertical walls which extend well beyond the permitted limits of the qualung. A sheer drop and an overhanging cliff await them between 30 and 60 meters. This site is ideal for `` deep water `` training. In open water there are dog-toothed tuna, jackfish and unicorn fish.
