Company description TDI/SDI New Zealand is the regional office for TDI/SDI globally.

We offer:
*nitrox
This is the entry level certification course for recreational divers wishing to utilize enriched air nitrox (EAN) as a breathing gas. The objective of this course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards and proper procedures for using nitrox mixes from 22% to 40% oxygen content.
*advanced nitrox
This course examines the use of EAN 21 through 100% (oxygen) for optimal mixes to a depth of 130fsw/40msw. The object of this course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards and proper procedures for utilizing EAN 21 through 100% (oxygen) for dives not requiring staged decompression. (Decompression techniques may be combined with this course at the discretion of the instructor).
*advanced wreck
This course provides the training and experience to competenly conduct advanced wreck dives, penetration skills and techniques are covered.
*decompression procedures
This course examines the theory, methods and procedures of planned stage decompression diving. The objective of this course is to train divers how to plan and conduct a standard staged decompression dive not exceeding a maxium depth of 150fsw/45msw unless taught in conjuction with advanced nitrox, Extended Range or Advanced Wreck Courses. The most common equipment requirments, gear set-ups, decompression techniques and decompression mixtures (including oxygen and nitrox) are presented.
*extended range
This course provides the training and experience required to competently utilize air for dives up to 180 fsw/55msw that require staged decompression, utilizing nitrox mixtures and oxygen during decompression.
*entry level trimix
This course provides the training required to competenly and safely utilize breathing gasses containing helium for dives that require staged decompression, utilizing nitrox and/or oxygen mixtures during decompression to a maximum depth of 200fsw/60msw.
*advanced level trimix
This course provides the training required to competenly and safely utilize breathing gasses containing helium for dives that require staged decompression, utilizing nitrox and/or oxygen mixtures during decompression to a maximum depth of 300fsw/100msw.
*rebreather training
This is the entry-level certification course for recreational divers wishing to utilize a nitrox semiclosed circuit rebreather (benefits, hazards and proper procedures are comprehensively taught).
*nitrox gas blender
The objective of this course is to train candidates in the proper technique equipment requirements and hazards involved in blending nitrox gases for recreational scuba.
*advanced gas blender
The objective of this course is to train candidates in the proper procedures needed for the preparation and blending of high quality gasses.
*service technician
This course enables the successful candidate to engage in the preparation of scuba equipment for technical diving gasses.
*overhead environment/cavern
This course is designed to develop the minimum skills and knowledge for cavern and overhead environment diving within the limits of light penetration; in addition outlines specific hazards associated with cave diving.

Location description: SDI was launched in 1999, and grew out of the success of TDI. Both students and instructors have embraced the no nonsense approach that the SDI training system offers. SDI was the first to require students be taught with modern dive computers from the outset, and course materials reflect the state-of-the-art in modern texts in four colour perfect bound books lavishly illustrated with photography and graphics.
SDI offers:
*Skin diver
This snorkeling course is designed to give students the necessary skills to safely snorkel in conditions similar to their training without the direct supervision of an instructor.
*scuba discovery (resort diver)
This program is designed to give perspective students of minimum age 10 years an introduction to Scuba diving in a controlled environment under the direct supervision of an insured Instructor. Instant Resort Diver Certification by using the SDI InstaCard.
*future buddies
This program is designed to provide children between the ages of 8 & 9 an introduction to scuba diving in a controlled environment under the direct supervision of a guardian or parent and an insured Instructor
*open water scuba diver
This entry-level certification course is designed to give students the necessary skills to safely conduct open water dives in conditions similar to their training, to a maximum depth of 18msw / 60 fsw without the direct supervision of an instructor. Minimum age 18 (15 with parental consent) though students between the ages of 10 to 14 may obtain a Restricted Scuba Diver Certification.
*inactive diver refresher
The Inactive Diver program is designed to update and review the knowledge and skill level of an inactive diver. SDI encourages the use of this program for Instructors, Assistant Instructors, Divemasters and Resorts or Dive Facilities that have questions regarding the diving history of an individual.
*advance adventure diver
The SDI Advanced Adventure Diver Program has been created to allow Open Water Divers to experience a range of diving activities under the direct supervision of a SDI Open Water Instructor. The diver completes dives from any 5 of the non-overhead SDI Specialties.
*rescue diver
The rescue certification course is designed to develop the knowledge and necessary skills for an individual to effectively perform diver rescues and assists, and administer necessary first aid.
*master scuba diver
The SDI Master Scuba Diver Development Program was created to make truly “Master Divers”. The SDI – Master Scuba Diver Development program requires a new OW to take eight (4) SDI specialties and the Rescue Diver course, along with having a total of fifty (50) logged dives. SDI feels a diver will truly be “Master Scuba Diver” after this is accomplished.
