Company description The dive shop started life in a cargo container parked on the shoreline in 1984. Spearheaded by Shallum Etpison and his wife Mandy, the dive shop has grown over the last twenty years into the premier dive operation in Palau, working out of a $3 million dollar facility. NECO Marine is a PADI 5* IDC and Gold Palm facility. The name originates with Shallum`s late father, the former president of Palau, Ngiratkel Etpison, who founded the NECO group of companies in 1945. He started by using a Japanese scrapped generator to make ice candy, later becoming one of the prominent businessmen of Palau. He started the first tourist and sightseeing business in the 1970s, and in 1984 opened Palau Pacific Resort, Palau`s most luxurious beach resort.

NECO Marine`s facility boasts:
*A large air-conditioned retail space where you can find everything from gifts for those at home, the obligatory NECO t-shirts, through to a comprehensive selection of dive gear.
*NECO`s internet cafe which runs on a dedicated DSL line. At $2.50 for 30 mins one of the best deals in Palau.
*An air-conditioned gear room perfect for storing and drying scuba gear between dives. You have the option to simply leave your dive gear on the boat and we`ll take care of it for you.
*A full complement of rental gear, including Aqualung BCDs, Apex regulators and UWATEC dive computers.
*The best scuba training pool in Palau, it was designed and purpose built with dive training in mind. Just behind the pool you can find changing rooms with hot showers and lockers and two large rinse tanks, one for your scuba gear and a second for wetsuits.
*The largest, most modern fleet of high-performance dive boats in Palau. All our boats are equipped with O2 kits, first aid kits, and communications equipment - just in case. The boats may be large, but we don`t pack them, leaving plenty of space for you to move about and store all your stuff.

PADIs CPR and First Aid course is for divers and non-divers alike. CPR and first aid are prerequisites for anyone wishing to become a Rescue Diver. If you don`t have a current CPR and first aid certification we highly recommend this course. prices

Location description: Palau is home to over 700 species of coral (400 hard corals) and over 1300 species of fish, at the last count. This is testament to the fact that the warm tropical waters of Palau (typically an agreeable 84°F/29°C) have the most diverse marine life anywhere in micronesia. With over 60 dive sites and 60 wrecks there is a huge variety in dive sites. Whether it be the ripping currents of Blue Corner, the beautiful hard coral gardens, the breathtaking soft corals of Big Drop-Off and Yellow Wall or even the visually stunning Blue Holes there are dive sites to wow any and everyone. With critters ranging from Manta Rays and sharks all the way down to Mandarinfish and nudibranchs, in Palau there is always something to look at.
You will find here not just some of the world`s best diving and most famous dive sites, but a huge variety of dive sites. Dive Trips
With a journey time of around 45 minutes to reach many of the best dive sites, our dive boats typically do two dives a day with a break for lunch. Additional 3rd dives and night dives are readily available on all dive trips - either ask us when you book or simply talk with your dive guide.
